Party People. All Parties

Another reminder - the third annual MOB Summerpalooza is at Keegan's Pub on Saturday, September 9. An RSVP isn't necessary, but feel free to drop me one at anyway, so I can get a count of the attendees in advance.

By the way, the MOB is rigorously non-partisan. We encourage leftybloggers to show up - in fact, we go out of our way to invite them. They tend to stick to themselves, at liberals-only parties like "Drinking Liberally", where they practice their mutual hobbies of swearing, frothing, and regurgitating conspiracy theories. We figure if they get out a little more, it'll be good for them.

Of course, usually when I invite the bigger leftybloggers, I get some sort of excuse: "Oh, that date is Gus Hall's Birthday" or "That's the exhibit opens, commemorating the Northfield Barrista Strike of 1998" or some such.

Just saying, leftybloggers - come on down. It's a lot of fun - and by fun, I don't just mean swearing and frothing.

"the fact that it's obvious to everyone but a semi-comatose potato bug that the MOB generally veers to the right of the political spectrum won't stop us from our Homeric quest."

Feel perfectly free. We admit in advance that most MOB bloggers are GOP/conservative/libertarian of some stripe or another. It's expected; the NARN (who founded the MOB) are conservatives, and most of the blogs worth reading in the Twin Cities are right of center.

But I didn't say "all of our members are nonpartisan"; I said "the MOB is nonpartisan". Which is the truth.

If you can't see the distinction - well, then you SHOULD be a liberal!

What's on the agenda of the Summerpalooza?

Posted by: Noah Kunin at August 23, 2006 02:53 PM

1) Get to Keegans
2) Order a drink, maybe some food
3) Meet people.
4) Talk.
5) Drink.
6) Have conversation with one of those bloggers you've always wanted to meet/confront/ask a question of.
7) Drink, talk and converse some more.

That's really about it.
