She Knows No-Thing. She Sees No-Thing.

At least when it comes to her staff's antics:

cr.jpg

(The image is for satirical purposes only, and deliberately leverages the benign, comedic nature of the late John Banner's beloved character, Sergeant Schultz. Schultz was a stumbling, bumbling oaf - sort of like the Rowley campaign itself - and incapable of comprehending his own situation, much less inflicting evil - again, like Rowley's campaign itself. Coleen Rowley served her country well as an FBI agent for a long time, and for that deserves our thanks. The illustration above in no way implies, implicitly or explicitly, any sympathy for Nazi ideology, history or causes on Rowley's part. Which is why I am disclaiming the image so very, very clearly).

(Unlike her website's original shot of Rep. Kline, of course).

well, I blame this pic of Ms. Rowley on an anonymous staffer

You're a wretched photoshopper.

Which makes you much better than Ken Avidor.

Posted by: geoff at January 31, 2006 03:09 PM

You deserve to go to the Russian Front for that Photoshop job Mitch.

Posted by: the elder at January 31, 2006 03:33 PM

Mmmmm, Vodka.

Just giving the job the attention to detail it deserves.

Posted by: mitch at January 31, 2006 03:34 PM

How dare you associate such a benign individual with something so hateful!

Sgt. Schultz deserves better!

Actually if you look up Hogan's Hero's on Wikipedia, you'll find some quite interesting biographies. It really makes me appreciate the show even more, now.

I still think Bob Crane should *never* have been cast, though.

As a good Democrat, I probably should defend Rowley. I've heard her speak, however, so that is not possible.

Oh, and its not THAT bad of a Photoshop job, I don't see a lot of artifacts. Why you'd want to plunk down hundreds on Photoshop, however, or $100+ on Paint Shop Pro when GIMP (a copyleft Photoshop clone) is freely available is beyond me, however...

Mitch: Wall Street Journal, January 30th small business section, page 6 (link from page 1) has an EXCELLENT "how to" article on podcasting. It overviews equipment, software, money, and websites with enough detail to get anyone started. All you really need is a good microphone ($100) and a hosting provider, everything else is free.

From:
Hogan's Heroes "HOLD THAT TIGER"
Episode #2
Written by Richard Powell, Producer: Ed Feldman, Director: Robert Butler
REVISED FINAL DRAFT June 4, 1965
tinyurl (dot) com/atqm4

EXCERPT:

INT. BARRACKS - DAY

(Hogan is directing a group of POWs, who - with hammers and screwdrivers - are assaulting one of the end walls of the barracks, pulling nails and unscrewing screws. Some are on makeshift ladders. The lookout at the door, Carter, gives a warning.)

CARTER
Guard coming!

(The men immediately stop work, jumping down from their preches and assuming innocent expressions. Carter then takes a closer look.)

CARTER
(continuing) As you were... it's only Schultz.

(With a disgusted look at Carter, who gives an apologetic shrug, the men resume work. SCHULTZ then enters. On seeing the work going on, he becomes very agitated.)

SCHULTZ
What is? What? What? What is? What?

HOGAN
Remodeling, Schultz. You see, we knock out this wall here, put in a picture window, which gives us a sweeping vista to the delousing station. Then, with some Danish modern pieces in place of... Or what would you think of Provincial, Schultz?

SCHULTZ
Colonel Hogan, please! You cannot knock out a wall!! Please!!!

HOGAN
How else would we get the tank in?

SCHULTZ
Tank? Tank? Tank? Tank?

HOGAN
To take it apart. So we can...

(Schultz claps his hands over his ears.)

SCHULTZ
I hear nothing! I see nothing! Nothing!

Mitch, that job you got laid off from in "It Was Twenty Years Ago Today, Part MMCDLVI" - was that a job that required Photoshop skills?

Cause I may be able to solve that lingering mystery for you...

Posted by: angryclown at February 1, 2006 06:38 PM

I've never had a job that required Photoshop skills.

Why? Does it show?

Posted by: mitch at February 1, 2006 07:39 PM

Hogans Heroes used to be on a 5 o'clock slot on channel 45 and was moved to later at night.

A great farce and an incredibly underrated show. The boys had fun making that show. Uniforms and equipment were spot on, too. Funny most of the "German" actors on the show were Jewish (John Banner, Klemperer, "Burkhalter" and "Hockstetter")

It is obvious it did not get under their skin and had a "gas" doing it.

To say the least you could not do that show today...the sense of humor and "ham-my" quality is missing in most actors and people.

An English show about WWII in war-torn France with German officers, Gestopo, French resistance girls, escaping English airmen, bi-lingual English agents, Communist resistance girls, and a French cafe...

...lots of farce and silliness. 'Allo, 'Allo! In fact it DID get some feathers ruffled, but it ran for nine seasons.

Greg revealed: "A great farce and an incredibly underrated show. The boys had fun making that show. Uniforms and equipment were spot on, too."

Gee, one of Mitch's fans has a detailed knowledge of Nazi-era uniforms and equipment. I'm completely surprised.

A "Midnight Express" groupie? (Shiver)

Wow, an angry lefty who makes yet another Nazi insinuation... I'm so surprised.

Must be the third stage creeping up on you, Clown.

Posted by: badda-blogger at February 2, 2006 06:58 PM

You guys just remind me of the wacky, incompetent Nazis. You know, like Colonel Klink.

Posted by: angryclown at February 2, 2006 10:02 PM

It is known as HISTORY Angryclown...something you know little about. I suggest a little heavy lifting from the History Channel.

Every leftist prick I have seen is a fascistic in their hearts. Want everyone to kiss their asses.

There's another shocker... Clown showing contempt for everyone else.

Kind of like the REAL Nazis!

Grog blathered: "It is known as HISTORY Angryclown...something you know little about. I suggest a little heavy lifting from the History Channel."

Oh well, Professor Greg, you didn't tell me you watch *the History Channel*. I just hope you don't ever make the big move up to books. I hate to think of the scary amount of knowledge you'll have then!
