Open Letter to CompUSA

On the one hand, thanks for leaving internet connectivity on your Apple (TM) Demos.

On the other - try hiring some "service" that's less churlish, more competent.

Thank youl

If you're looking to buy an Apple, you're better off going to an Apple Store - then you'll get people who actually know the product and actually treat customers well. CompUSA, BestBuy, etc., all are notorious for crappy customer service, and for good reason...

I've never actually received any service and CompUseless, so I couldn't tell you if they are churlish or not.

Seems to me they make their money by not bothering to have any employees at all

So let me get this straight. You went to best buy so you could surf the web and post to your blog from their showroom for free. Then you complain when the sales goons are chagrined at this patent abuse of a demo machine.
maybe next time you can bring coffee & donuts and setup a little cyber-cafe next to the dvd players!

Terry must be reading a different post than the rest of us. Wonder why Terry thinks he is complaining about Compusa when he went to best buy. Perhaps Terry doesnt read so good. Anyway, I was in Compusa over Christmas and found the sales guys useless myself. Wonder if Terry "works" at one of those places.

"You went to best buy"

No, I went to CompEastGermany - er, CompUSA.

" so you could surf the web and post to your blog from their showroom for free."

No, I tested Opera with my blogging software to see if it was any more compatible with Movable Type than is Firefox for Windows.

" Then you complain when the sales goons are chagrined at this patent abuse of a demo machine."

Er, no sales "goons" were chagrinned, because none noticed me using the machine. Nor did they notice me standing in front of a row of other machines with that quizzical, "I have questions!" look on my face.

Oops! Bad mistake about CompUSA/Best Buy -- when I last lived in the twin cities there was no such thing as CompUSA but their was a Best Buy in every shopping mall.
