Over Carolla'd

Years ago, if I was up late at night, I'd flip on Loveline, a late-night talk radio show where "Doctor Drew" Pinsky and one Adam Carolla dispensed advice - amid jokes, ridicule and the occasional nugget of wisdom - about love, sex and relationships.

Pinsky is a fine radio talent. Carolla is a wisecracking morning guy transplanted to the Advice beat. And suddenly he's everywhere on TV, and I've pretty much had enough of him.

Now, Adam Carolla has not one but TWO shows on television. And he's no longer a sidekick or a co-host. He's running the show. And this disturbs me, as he is neither funny nor clever, and his voice makes the hair on my arms stand up when I have to hear him for longer than ten minutes.

TV network executives, especially those at Comedy Central and TLC but really, all of you, I think I speak for viewers everywhere when I say that the world does NOT need more Adam Carolla.

And you can knock off the Jimmy Kimmell, too.

I gotta disagree with you on one area, Mitch. Carolla and Kimmell were downright hysterical on "The Man Show". While the concept of the show started to get a bit stale, the bits they had were quite funny. This is proven by how BAD "The Man Show" became after they were replaced by the two idiots that KILLED that show. It turned from an impish show about how silly men can be....into a XXX hardcore porno for sex-starved perverts.

The radio program is still on and I download it each day at http://www.ehansen.us/ for a quick listen. The advice they give is still great (well, the stuff from Drew at least), and I find it fascinating how strange people can be. Adam is annoying, and the few times I have seen his little talk show on TV, he simply re-hashed bits that he has done a million times on the radio show. When I go weary of him, I just stop tuning in.

Adam, Jimmy, and some other folks own the company responsible for the Andy Milonakis show on MTV (Jimmy "discovered" Andy and Jimmy's brother runs the program, I believe.) Andy's show is like one of the worst bits from The Man Show, repeated over and over and over again. The joke is that this pre-pubescent 13-year-old is running around acting like a drunken frat boy. Unfortunately, the "boy" is played by a 30-something professional improv actor with a glandular disorder that appears to keep him permanently in the body of a 13-year-old fat kid. Disturbing.

Kimmel was gold, Jerry, GOLD as Ben Stein's sidekick on "Win Ben Stein's Money" but I don't have any other uses for him.

Ooof - I have a deep-down abiding hatred for the Milonakis show, and that's under the assumption he really WAS a precocious teenager. He's an adult? Irredeemable.

Wow, I should have known. I always wondered how they could get away wih the stuff they pulled with that kid, er, I mean adult. Although IMDB states otherwise.
