Powerline covers Nick Coleman's vapid "Finger" column which I covered yesterday. Scott's piece includes one of Coleman's typically-classy email responses to a reader.
The commenters who noted that it wasn't a middle finger, but rather the President's thumb, were apparently correct, according to Olberman:
...a finger would be funnier, but according to those who were there it's his thumb.Hm.
So, Nick (and I know both you and your boss at the station read this): If the President's alledged off-flipping were an insult to the entire media, what is it when a hack columnist runs with a hoax?

It's not even a hoax. Coleman wasn't hoaxed, pranked, or misled. He was driven by his own deranged need to find something, anything, to bang the President over the head with. What a moron.
Hey, Nick? This one's for you, buddy. No question this time.

Y'know, with the success of werenotafraid.com and weresosorrywerepatheticwankerslivingintheusaagainstaourwill.com, maybe a flipemalloff.com would fly...I know I'd contribute.
Posted by: Brian Jones at August 4, 2005 09:31 AMDear Nick Coleman:
For any of us that actually pay attention, we all know what a complete liberal, socialistic hack you really are. And that you will go to what ever level it takes to attack Republicans, particularly President Bush.
All I can say is that any newspaper that employs your level of "journalism" deserves to have its circulation cut every year by people who learn what a complete ass you really are.
Oh...wait...StarTrib HAS been losing circulation EVERY YEAR since the 1990's! Well, we'll just have to push that number down faster, in spite of the circulation number RIGGING your paper TRIED to pull!
