Next week, I think, I'll do my annual "Twin Cities Talk Radio Review". It's been an annual thing for me for the last couple of years. This year, I'm going to try to add KFAN to the list - which means I'll actually have to listen to KFAN.
Ugh.
In utterly unrelated news, I read with interest earlier this month as Right Wing Nuthouse liveblogged the Battle of Gettysburg. That started an idea that is, typically, all-consuming and over-ambitious; I want to liveblog the Battle of Britain, which was getting started about this time 65 years ago. I think I missed the official start by a couple of days, but I may just give it a shot this week.
Or next year. Not sure yet.

I think you need to add KFAN to the list of talker channels this year. They fill out an entire day with local "talent". While most of it is unlistenable, there are some good shows.

KFAN is to talk radio that skunks are to any party. Each of their hosts are the most air-headed and least prepared people to discuss actual issues in society, other than maybe the Twins team ERA or why the 5th string linebacker for the Vikes should be cut in favor of an additional nickel package deep safety.
Leave them off. Please.
Posted by: Dave at July 22, 2005 02:37 PMThe sad thing, Dave, is that they're usually even horrible at discussing the Twins. The two teams in town, to them, are the Vikings and the Wolves (and KFAN carries both teams' broadcasts). So they just might have a decent debate regarding linebackers at the bottom of the depth chart.
Posted by: Nick at July 22, 2005 11:07 PMYou have to listen between the hours of 2-7 for anything Twinkies related. Hartman has a weekly thing with Terry Ryan that is very good and Barrero has Al Newman on frequently. As a primary Twins fan (then the Vikes), you are right...they don't talk about the best team in the local area enough...especially those 2 idiots that come after Barrero.
Speaking of the Twins, they should have unloaded Mays before yesterday. Get something in return for him while you can. Loshe or Mays can go wil Romero. Baker and Liriano should be able to carry the load for the rest of the year.
