That happened all THREE times that I tried to vote for Minnesota. Just to make sure it wasn't rigged in favor of Colorado, I tried voting for the Colorful state. Same error. Dagnabit.
I was born & raised in MN and I voted for the Colorado quarter. The MN quarter looks reminded me how bad the mosquitoes and gnats could be sitting in a little fishing boat.
I'm a proud Minnesotan but was raised in Colorado and consider that "home". I voted for the Colorado quarter because it's exactly what it looked like where I lived...also, I hate those dang loons with a passion! I love to hear them at night when camping at Itasca or wherever, but they are so ubiquitous in every tourist trap-type shop from one end of the state to the other. Why coulsn't the quarter have a lady slipper and a birch tree...or something (anything) ELSE. (I don't like fishing either...!).
Mitch,
What if all you're doing is just leading people to a poll that could them have them vote for the CO quarter?
That's what I just did.

Posted by: Dave in Pgh. at June 13, 2005 09:39 AMWhy would anyone vote for the Minnesota quarter?
It's horrid.
I still think we should have put on it a picture of the most famous Minnesotan - Bullwinkle Moose.
Posted by: Jeff Dege at June 13, 2005 10:58 AMThere were lots of other designs submitted for the Minnesota quarter as well. I don't the best one necessarily won.
just an example:
