Trunk at Powerline combines his own writing with links to Brian "Saint Paul" Ward, King Banaian, and others to write the most complete synopsis yet of the tangled rhetorical and editorial web that is the flap between Nick Coleman and Craig Westover.. "Why is it that an intensely partisan hack like Coleman doesn’t even have to print a clarification for his tall tales, while a scholar like [former education secretary] Dr. Yecke is subjected to such scrutiny?", he asks; the answer's in there.
By the way, invitations have gone out to Nick Coleman, Craig Westover, and Maxfield Elementary School principal Zelma Wiley to appear on the Northern Alliance show next Saturday. I'd like to get to the bottom of this story.

My guess is you get 1 out of 3, and no surprise which of the three.
Posted by: chriss at December 13, 2004 04:14 PMIt would be priceless to ask principal Wiley if she is lying about the book situation, or if she is accusing Nick of lying... got to be one of the two.
After the stunt Coleman pulled on Air America yesterday ripping bloggers again and Power Line in particular (Saint Paul at Fraters Libertas caught him red-handed; so did one of Power Line's readers) I'll say it again: there is no way the pompous, overbearing, elitist, reeking-of-condescension Nicky Boy would ever allow himself to be cross-examined on-air. ('Facist Bullies?' 'Anonymous Cowards?' 'PAID Political Operatives?' I'd love to see a transcript! Better yet, let Chumley fisk it!)
Trunk says it all, with a classic (and classy) putdown: "In my post I described Coleman as an intensely partisan hack; it turns out that I was understating matters considerably. If our e-mailer's report of Coleman's on-air comments was in the ballpark, Coleman is a prevaricating scoundrel."
