For a brief, shining moment, the Northern Alliance Radio Network was at the front of a trend - blogger radio shows.
WBIX, a business-format talk station in Boston, has been running a weekly, one-hour show, Pundit Review. The NARN's Scott Johnson was one of the program's interview subjects. While I'm not sure if the hosts were particularly prominent bloggers before they started the show, it was certainly an encouraging development.
However, WBIX seems to be circling the drain, a victim of fraudulent management.
The bad news? The NARN is back to being a Trend of One.
The good news? I don't see anyone involved in the NARN or AM1280 The Patriot being perpwalked out of the studio any time soon.

I don't know Mitch, anyone brings up Southern Cal's fake punt play against Notre Dame and Captain Ed is gonna start taking hostages.
Posted by: James Ph at November 29, 2004 08:59 AMWe have a contingency plan in place for just such an event James. It involves Holy Water and stun guns, but for the sake of operational security that's all I can divulge at this point.
Personally, I'm really looking forward to the end of the college football season. Ed's been wearing the same ND jersey to the studio since the season began and it's getting rather ripe. An exorcism may be required to cleanse it of the odiferous spirits that now inhabit it.

I was in the Cities over the holiday and heard the show for the first time- good stuff, though the first words I heard were when the congresswoman from California was referred to as "Dirty Sanchez."
Posted by: Steve at November 29, 2004 10:44 AMYes, I believe that her nickname came about due to her fondness for mudslinging during the campaign.
There isn't some other connotation of that moniker that we're not aware of, is there?
Posted by: the elder at November 29, 2004 09:15 PMYet, there are reports that a blogger somewhere in the state of Idaho has set up shop with his Ham radio. As his guests he interviewed a sock puppet dressed up like Kofi Annan.
