Michele Catalano says what I tried to, and does it faster:
Just curious, but how do you think those lefty bloggers would feel if I spoke the same way about Muslims? Isn't the whole Jesusland concept just what they get on Charles at Little Green Footballs for when he takes on radical Muslims? Suddenly, the left side of the blogosphere is awash in mass hysteria about how those religious white folks with their bibles and their homophobia are going to destroy your lives. What makes this any different than when a right bloggers says that Islam is the "Religion of Peace" in a sarcastic manner? If I wrote half what these guys are writing about Christians about Muslims, I would be inundated with accusations of bigotry and blind hate. And guess what? Those hurling the accusations at me would claim I was following the lead of the great crowd of ignorant conservatives, that I'm a sheep, a mindless drone who has fallen for propaganda. The distinction is lost on a lot of people. Posted by Mitch at November 8, 2004 06:58 AM | TrackBackBut look at yourselves. Your guy lost the election so now it's ok to behave in a manner you once found ugly? Now it's ok to be the party of exclusion, to think you are morally and intellectually superior to one specific religious group or culture and to show that contempt in blatant form?
A great comment on LGF after someone tried to lump Christian Fundamentalists in with Muslims:

Mitch--
I wholeheartedly agree--as I said on my site, I was offended, and I'm not a Christian.

Posted by: Eracus at November 8, 2004 12:15 PMHave you heard this? The liberals are at it again. In a hospital in Washington D.C. a doctor was fired for saying a prayer over a deceseased patient. When will the liberals ever learn?
Posted by: Ray at November 8, 2004 02:30 PMRay--
Well, depends on the patient and the prayer. I'd be upset--well, I'd be dead, but bear with me--if a doctor was trying to give me last rites; I'm not Catholic. Indeed, I'm not Christian. And it would offend my soul.
So without further detail, I'd say the jury's out on your horrid case. (And just so you know: it may be horribly unfair to the doctor. Liberals--and worse, bureaucrats--are just as capable of stupidity as anyone. But without further detail, I can't make a decision on this case.)
Posted by: Jeff Fecke at November 9, 2004 04:06 AMWhatever, whatever....WHATEVER!
I think it is terrible, I think it is the dissolution of giving someone the freedom of religion and the liberals (aren't all beauracrats liberals?) want to take away a doctor's right to pray.
Now I sat by as the liberals took away school prayer, and I sat by as the liberals tried to take away "Under God," but as a practicing Christian and a practicing chiropractic nurse I will not let them take away my right to pray.
I say we boycott any hospital that does not respect the right of the surgeons to utter prayers. Who is with me?
Posted by: Ray at November 9, 2004 08:13 AMThe Doc should be given a meda. I want my doctor praying before he works on me.
