Johns Kerry and Edwards will draw a line in the sand.
And if the murdering mullahs in Teheran cross that line - well, the Johns will draw another line, dammit!
Or so says their "plan" to "confront" Iran on their nuke program.
What is it with Democrat administrations and endless tolerance of racist butchers and their megalomania?:
A John F. Kerry administration would propose to Iran that the Islamic state be allowed to keep its nuclear power plants in exchange for giving up the right to retain the nuclear fuel that could be used for bomb-making, Democratic vice presidential nominee John Edwards said in an interview yesterday. And this means...?
Edwards said that if Iran failed to take what he called a "great bargain," it would essentially confirm that it is building nuclear weapons under the cover of a supposedly peaceful nuclear power initiative. He said that, if elected, Kerry would ensure that European allies were prepared to join the United States in levying heavy sanctions if Iran rejected the proposal. "If we are engaging with Iranians in an effort to reach this great bargain and if in fact this is a bluff that they are trying to develop nuclear weapons capability, then we know that our European friends will stand with us," Edwards said. And then they shall impose sanctions a second time! They do not frighten John Kerry, those electric food-trough waterers. Their fathers were hamsters, and their mothers smelled of elderberries...
Well, it's no worse than Kerry's policy...

Someone ought to send those gentlemen a few articles to bring them up to speed on current affairs. You know, the ones that state that Iran has huge oil reserves and needs nuke power like North Dakotans need more mosquitoes! The coffee is burning and they still can't smell it! Of course their nuke plants are to develop weapons grade materials. But let us not call a spade a....er, card with a rounded object with a point on one end, of a color other than white.
Posted by: fingers at August 31, 2004 08:09 AMWhat's next? If you build nukes we will fart in your general direction?
Posted by: chris at August 31, 2004 11:32 AMKerry does not have a great track record of predicting outcomes based on the promises of despotic regimes (in other words he stupidly believes them). According to his testimony before Congress in '71 he said about 3,000 people would be affected by the U.S. pulling our troops out of Vietnam. Perhaps he meant 3,000 in the first 10 minutes. Perhaps he meant 3,000 before he meant 1,000,000. It's so hard to know with him.
Every day that goes by I come to a new realization of exactly how dangerous it would be should he become president.
I'm all for offering an olive branch when those I would offer it to are dealing in good faith. The question is what, in the name of everything that is good and holy on God's green earth, makes Kerry/Edwards think the mullah's of Iran would deal in good faith? Are they not familiar with the consequences of Clinton's North Korean deal? They might as well just hand a nuke to Iran and be done with it. The mind reels.
And the Left wonders why the voters are suspicious of them when it comes to security matters.
