This week marked the first defection from Air America FrankenNet, as reported on the "blog" for Morning Sedition, the network's morning show.
PS: In case you haven't heard us say so on the air, Sue Ellicott has indeed opted to wake up at a human hour -- in order to become AAR's correspondent in the field. She'll be working for the entire network, so keep an ear out for her reports in the next few weeks!I'm sure it has nothing to do with the network's financial tailspin, or the fact that Morning Sedition is heard on the air in a small minority even of FrankenNet's affiliates.
Ellicot's departure is the first from among the air "talent" with which FrankenNet debuted, and reduces the network's righteous babe quotient to zero.

That blurb says she's leaving the Morning Sedition show, but staying on at AirAmerica as a reporter ("...in order to become AAR's correspondent in the field."). That's not defecting...or did I read it wrong? And is she really a babe?
Posted by: Tim at July 2, 2004 08:28 PMExactly. She's left "MS" to work as a reporter at large.
You could assume that that means Air America, strapped as they are, has determined that the network needs to move one of their charter morning hosts to a (fairly useless) "reporter" role.
Or you could assume that she's gone to "freelance" status to give herself some different employment options while saving the network some face.
Which do I assume it is? I think the case for #1 is very weak, let's say.
Yes, she's definitely a babe. #6 from the left in the pic linked below:

You be the judge, but I think she's too cute to be a liberal radio personality.

If AAR has any brains at all (a debatable proposition) they'll get somebody female and listenable on the morning show, pronto. The two Marks are neither. Of course, the former isn't their fault. NOBODY will listen to the two Marks.
The show reminds me of a 3-hour daily SNL skit that isn't working. The way they stubbornly do each played-out bit (liberal agenda, the alcoholics anonymous thing, the fake Bill Clinton guy) every day, whether they have anything to add or not, is just pathetic.
