Audrey Hepburn was declared the most beautiful woman of all time.
While I don't disagree, any poll where Ingrid Bergman doesn't come up in the top two is suspect on its face. Posted by Mitch at June 1, 2004 08:32 AM

Hepburn, the star of Roman Holiday and Breakfast at Tiffany's, topped the poll of beauty editors, make-up artists, fashion editors, model agencies and fashion photographers who were asked to choose their top 10 beauties from the list of 100 compiled by the drinks firm Evian.
The women were chosen for their "embodiment of natural beauty, healthy living, beautiful on the inside and out, with great skin and a natural glow to their personality, as well as their complexion", Evian said.
Hepburn was joined in the top five by current US film star Liv Tyler, Blanchett, Tomb Raider star Angelina Jolie and the '50sicon turned princess Grace Kelly.
"Audrey Hepburn is the personification of natural beauty," said Elle beauty director Rosie Green.
Billy Wilder has amazing things to say about her, from when he directed her in Sabrina. And he has cutting things to say about Sidney Pollack's remake, which is pretty amusing. He said something like, "The reason the new one doesn't work is because the girl in the tree staring in at the party isn't in love. She's a cold fish. But you look at Audrey Hepburn up in the tree- and all you can feel is how in love she is. The whole movie works because of that." Remember her face peeking out through the leaves?? God!
Wilder also said about her, "Audrey Hepburn will single-handedly make bosoms a thing of the past."
A true treasure.

Now about this "Angelina Jolie" in the top five bit...
Posted by: mitch at June 1, 2004 10:33 AMAbout the only thing that I really agree with is Audrey Hepburn as number one. The Sabrina remake was horrible and further proof that Harrison Ford should stick to action/drama movies and no one should be allowed to remake a Bogey movie under penalty of being forced to listen to Al Franken do the “Oy Oy” bit nonstop for eight hours.
What’s the deal with Madonna as 19 (does anyone seriously find her beautiful?) while Ingrid Bergman comes in only at 65!
Posted by: PJZ at June 1, 2004 11:27 AMIngrid Bergman at 65? She was in the top ten even when she was 65 -- years old.
Posted by: chris at June 1, 2004 01:09 PMThe young Elizabeth Taylor (pre-gargoyle) is an obvious ommission and Catherine Deneuve at 76 is a joke. Madonna is a lot of things -- a few of them good -- but beautiful is not one of them!
Any list of beautiful women that doesn't include Salma Hayek is a bunch of horse-pucky in my book. And how could Julia Roberts make it into a list of "naturally" beautiful women? Where did they find these so-called "experts?" I'm guessing they were hanging out at the Palace Royale or the Ace of Diamonds or some such other places of ill repute with excellent reputations.

[shudders]
Posted by: ccwbass at June 1, 2004 07:30 PMCleopatra?! Did they have any idea what she really looked like. Let's just say that from what few images of her exist she looked like Cher after getting a door slammed in her nose...
