Had a Good Time

I've written a piece or two about my two and a half decade interest in the Iron City Houserockers. The Houserockers were a band from Pittsburgh that released several of the best rock and roll albums of the 1980's.

Last year, when I was grossly underemployed, I built a tribute website.

It was a kick to see that the link to the site has popped up on Joe Grushecky's site.

I haven't had that kind of thing happen lately!

The Houserockers Rocked
Hey,
I discovered them in 82 when I was in the Army in Berlin. Looking through the "clearance" bin at the PX, I found and purchased their '79 release "Love's So Tough." I became entranced by the feel of their music, as if they only cared about telling their story as loud and as rockin' as they could ("Turn It Up" became my college anthem when I got out of the Army).
I searched out the rest of their music, and purchased the greatest hits CD as soon as it was released. I never saw them live, but my job takes me to Pittsburgh (I live in Minneapolis} every year, maybe some day my trips and their schedule will work out.
