She got an invoice,&quot; said defense attorney Chris Madel. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/JJfmQT4Plp\">pic.twitter.com\/JJfmQT4Plp<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Alpha News (@AlphaNewsMN) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AlphaNewsMN\/status\/1920095064107200956?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 7, 2025<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This may be the biggest backfire I&#8217;ve seen in a defamation suit &#8211; and the subject is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=23193\">by no means academic to me<\/a>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote>\n<p>In a move that finally brings truth to the matter, Blackwell also signed a written declaration, stating:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI, Katie Blackwell, acknowledge, agree, and affirm that everything in the Honorable Edward T. Wahl\u2019s Order Regarding Special Motion for Expedited Relief Under Minn. Stat. \u00a7 554.09 and for Fees and Costs Under Minn. Stat. \u00a7 554.16 dated April 8, 2025 is accurate, true, and correct.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So, despite her initial claims, Blackwell has now affirmed that <a href=\"https:\/\/alphanews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Blackwell-v.-Collin-24-15500-FINAL-ORDER.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">all of Judge Wahl\u2019s findings<\/a> are \u201caccurate, true, and correct.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>So this brings up all sorts of questions about Blackwell&#8217;s testimony in the Chauvin trial &#8211; including her assertions that the restraint technique Chauvin used on Floyd, which appeared to have been straight out of the department&#8217;s training manual as affirmed by several Minneapolis cops interviewed in Collin&#8217;s movie, was no-how, no-way, ever part of the MPD&#8217;s training canon.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"_wp_link_placeholder\" data-wplink-edit=\"true\">Read the whole article<\/a>.\u00a0 And buckle up.\u00a0 This next year or two is going be a doozie in Minnesota courts.\u00a0 <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Minneapolis deputy police chief Katie Blackwell&#8217;s defamation suit was thrown out, and she&#8217;s been ordered to pay back part of Liz Collin&#8217;s legal fees: This may be the biggest backfire I&#8217;ve seen in a defamation suit &#8211; and the subject is by no means academic to me.
