{"id":85747,"date":"2023-08-21T11:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-08-21T16:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=85747"},"modified":"2023-08-21T09:23:48","modified_gmt":"2023-08-21T14:23:48","slug":"woke-defined","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=85747","title":{"rendered":"Woke:  Defined?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In the game of cheap rhetorical card tricks, the latest card up your average garden variety Leftists sleeve is saying &#8220;Define &#8216;Woke'&#8221;, and then plastering a sanctimonious smirk on their face as the good guys try to arf up a definition for something that isn&#8217;t really <em>mean<\/em>t to be definite.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To some extent, Big Left uses terms like &#8220;woke&#8221; as a game of &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wikipedia:Bring_me_a_rock\">Bring Me A Rock<\/a>&#8221; &#8211; trying to answer a question whose parameters you don&#8217;t understand &#8211; or, ultimately, one of those greased pig contests at the county fair, where kids chased after a slicked-up piglet as the adults laugh at the hijinks.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But I love seeing smirks decaying into dejection, or better yet rage; it&#8217;s one of my life&#8217;s great joys, in fact.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So what the heck: let&#8217;s define &#8220;woke&#8221;, once and for all.  For the ages. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Con Text<\/strong>:  First, the rules:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We&#8217;re defining it from the modern <em>white progressive<\/em> context.
