{"id":206,"date":"2006-12-14T07:09:44","date_gmt":"2006-12-14T13:09:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/shotinthedark.info\/wp\/index.php\/2006\/12\/14\/freedom-wins\/"},"modified":"2006-12-14T07:11:37","modified_gmt":"2006-12-14T13:11:37","slug":"freedom-wins","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=206","title":{"rendered":"Freedom Wins!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bob &#8220;I Want To Be Lincoln Chaffee When I Grow Up&#8221; Taft&#8217;s veto of a state pre-emption ordinance for gun laws was <a href=\"http:\/\/seattlepi.nwsource.com\/national\/1110AP_Ohio_Guns_Veto_Override.html\">crushed in the Ohio Senate<\/a> on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The law &#8211; which will bar cities from hijacking control of the Constitution by enacting &#8220;tougher&#8221; gun laws than the State allows &#8211; is similar to the one we have in Minnesota:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Lawmakers voted Tuesday to override outgoing Gov. Bob Taft&#8217;s veto of a bill that will wipe out local gun laws, the first time in 20 years that the Legislature has rejected a gubernatorial veto.<\/p>\n<p>The move was all the more unusual because both chambers are dominated by Republicans &#8211; the governor&#8217;s own party.<\/p>\n<p>The Senate voted 21-12 on Tuesday to override, and the House voted last week.
