Senator Ron Latz – an anti-gun zealot about whom I’ve never, not once, said anything good or complimentary – came out in support of Israel finishing the job of removing a terrorist group that has spent decades training its children to hate Jews, and is currently not only deliberately using civilians as human shields, but bragging about it.
And his DFL colleagues were not amused:

I’d say this makes a good electoral “hit list”, although of this entire list of genocide symps, the closest to one to a “contestable” seat is Erin Maye Quade. One hopes Apple Valley does better. I, for one, am going to do my bit to make sure they remember this.

Okay, is this just me or did anyone else notice that of the dozen signatures on the press release, only two were by men. One, Omar Fateh, is obvious and the other John Marty is obvious for other reasons – but what is up with the girls?

At least in MN, I believe Somalis are still allowed to do so. I seem to remember an anti-FGM bill was pushed by a Republican rep (maybe Mary Franson?) but the (at that time) DFL majority voted it down in committee. Or something like that. There was the usual cry from the right about “How can feminists allow this to continue happening” and the usual stonewall of silence from the left.
What strikes me here is that Latz stepped in the Hamas by failing to note that it is “some”, not “all”, Gaza children who have contracted murderous hatred of Jews, and in doing so, he inadvertently gave cover to people whose political positions ignore atrocities that would make most SS camp guards blush.
That’s Latz’s famous Hahvid education speaking up again. You can tell a Harvard man, but you can’t tell him much, because like Mr. Osborne’s famous student, his brain is full….probably of Hamas.
Not surprising that Latz is on the anti-Palestine/Hamas side of the fence. Per Wikipedia, he’s Jewish.
A couple weeks ago, I saw a video of Dean Phillips at a town hall and some Palestine activist was disrupting the whole thing screaming about the “genocide against the the children and 1600 deaths”, demanding that he call for a cease fire. Had I been there, I would have stood up and yelled at her, “Hey moron, he’s Jewish! OF COURSE he’s not going to agree to your demands!”
That said, I am greatly enjoying the squirming of Jewish democrats who are stuck between their religion/ethnicity and their increasingly screechy activist-controlled party.
How any observant Jewish person is still a democrat, especially after the last 6 weeks, is one of life’s great mysteries.
I am not Jewish and I think Israel should punish Gaza, not because of a religious dispute, but because it’s elementary game theory.
if you let someone cheat once, they think they can do it sll the time. But if you punish cheating with overwhelming force, they never do it again.
Of course, that’s just my opinion. It’s not my circus, not by monkey’s, Isreal can do what they want.
All the terrorists around the world are watching how this plays out. Every single one of the terrorists involved in any way with the October 7th 2023 terrorist attacks against the Nation of Israel and the taking of the hostages, must be tracked down & brought to justice – as quickly as possible – no matter how long it takes. The terrorists must not be allowed to get away with this. It is not about retribution. It is about delivering justice. There is a lesson to be learned here: When citizens of Gaza – or anywhere in the world – elect terrorists to run their country, & these terrorists routinely & systematically use innocent people as human shields, forcibly co-mingle the use of hospitals, mosques, apartment buildings/living spaces, & kindergarten school space, for terrorist related functions & terrorist command centers, commandeer ambulances to transport terrorists from one place to another, steal humanitarian food & supply provisions to feed, fuel, & strengthen further terrorist actions, & build miles of heavily fortified terrorist tunnels deep beneath many of these surface level structures in order to hide out, evade being brought to justice, & to hold hostages – some of whom are being regularly gang-raped & being used as sex slaves for the terrorists – then a cease-fire is only moral after every single one of these terrorists is brought to justice & every single one of the remaining hostages is freed with no further harm. Demand the terrorists unconditional surrender.
