Trump single-handedly turned a perfect political environment for Republicans in the mid-terms into a referendum on democracy. Biggest myth out there is that Trump could win the presidency again. Sure he can win the GOP nomination, but not a general election. A neat solution for Republicans would be if Trump’s legal worries rendered him ineligible or unelectable. They may decide to quietly facilitate those efforts.
On the Republican infighting, they lost a House seat in Alaska because there were two GOP candidates on the ballot versus one Democrat. So the division within the GOP split the vote. That doesn’t sound like a party on course to win in 2024.
