Bill Krystol says, today in the NYT, that being put on a “no-fly” list should be grounds for revoking our Constitutional right to possess firearms.
Forget that these lists are extrajudicial, require no evidentiary examination and have no proscribed method for getting removed.

If there are thousands of aggrieved young men out there with AR-15s, about to snap, then saving lives would mean going around and taking those guns from these aggrieved young men about to snap.

Got a chuckle today. I listened to Jonah Goldberg’s podcast. His guest was a pro 2nd amendment guy who seemed like a good guy. It was obvious that Goldberg knew almost nothing about guns and gun laws and was using the guy to make up crib notes for his appearance on some CNN panel where he would be stuck into defending the pro 2nd amendment position.
I don’t know what Goldberg’s contract with CNN says, but Goldberg should refuse to appear on such a panel on the grounds that he is not competent to engage in that discussion. He used the word ‘clip” rather than ‘magazine,’ as was not aware that a pawn shop has to run a background check before selling you a gun.
It is a sign of how badly Goldberg has lost the fiddler’s tune that he is not really competent to discuss the conservative position on the two most important issues of the day, gun control and abortion.
“We all know there are 1,000s of aggrieved young men in possession of legally obtained AR-style rifles, ammunition, and body armor – and ready to snap.”
This is exactly the kind of thinking that got the Young Turk Talaat Bey started on his greatest accomplishment in 1915. Keep a careful eye on this Phillips character he is the stuff from which genocidal murderers are made.
