Joe Doakes from Como Park emails:
As my mind wanders, it links unrelated ideas. For example:
How deadly is Covid? How many people died OF Covid, WITH Covid, or merely DURING the Covid pandemic? It makes a huge difference but the media glosses over the distinction all the time.
Similarly, Miami Beach declared a Spring Break curfew because of a shooting, and a Wal-Mart got trashed by “Spring Break Youths.” Except there is a striking lack of logo sportswear in the videos. Are we certain these are UCLA students who brought their pistols to town for a shootout during Spring Break? Are we certain those Walmart yutes are students from Harvard and Yale? Could they be locals causing trouble DURING Spring Break? It makes a difference but the media glosses right over it.
Blaming the wrong people leads to punishing the wrong people. How can we make good decisions if the media gives us bad information? And that links to Ukraine, and gun control, and FBI racial crime statistics, and inflation, and . . . .

If people can’t trust the institutions that make self-government sustainable, what do they think the inevitable end result is?

UCLA students in Florida on Spring Break?

Must be. California’s gun control laws are strict, can’t have your shoot-out there.

Ivermectin failed as a Covid treatment, a large clinical trial found. The drug surged in popularity despite no strong evidence that it worked.

But this doctor on Facebook said it works…
Threadjack. Worse because you posted the same crap on another thread as well. Knock it off.

Mitch, I’m sorry but I’ve got to say this: you’re not a very nice person. You should be more caring, more sympathetic, more willing to help the mentally ill.
People with certain disorders cannot control their outbursts. Tourette Syndrome is the most well-known example but other causes may include schizophrenia, dementia, drug and alcohol abuse. Those suffering from these maladies need to let the words out, right now, regardless of context or forum.
The April 1 post at 8:32 above, is an example. It has nothing to do with anything anybody posted anywhere on SITD this morning but the poster simply isn’t capable of restraining himself. He must blurt it out, here and now. It’s an irresistable compulsion, not subject to any form of manners, civility or self-control.
A truly compassionate host would provide an Open Forum for the mentally ill to post their ravings to relieve their mental constipation. Try to level up, would you? It’s the right thing to do.

JD, you forgot to mention the greatest malady of all, liberalism.

What a perfect picture of US society in 2022. Unrestrained gun violence on public streets of a large city. Kids shooting each other without a care in the world. 2A heaven! And if you do get shot you can’t get into a hospital because they’re full of unvaccinated Covid-19 patients.
Florida is looking very unattractive as a vacation destination. If I remember correctly, Ft. Lauderdale purposely set out to become unattractive to spring breakers years ago because they are more trouble than they’re worth. Lauderdale wanted richer, older, and calmer.

And again at 9:40. See what I mean?
April 1st, 2022 at 9:47 am
Oh, look! The little nitwit thinks Florida cares whether or not he vacations there. Of course, all of us know how self absorbed Emery is. Get some help, bot boy.

And again at 9:40. See what I mean?
Posted the same thing on another thread from yesterday. I have never believed our resident troll is a bot, but behavior of this sort begs the question.

Random shootings happening every night on the same streets seems more “embarrassing” than the midnight curfew which the City of Miami Beach imposed. Floridians want guns to be prevalent. This is what happens. This ain’t a movie. Learn to deal with it.

^^off his meds, random irrational anger at people he does not know.
April 1st, 2022 at 10:51 am
Lol, more New York Slimes “proof”. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
“Urban” youths shooting each other for sneakers. Yup, 2nd amendment problem.
Dear god, what does the troll do, wake up to a dozen bong hits?
And who is still talking about ivermectin? Oh yeah, same (and only) people who talk about qanon and the proud boys (never heard of them til lefty started talking about them.)
What a sad little troll. Does it think it is making a difference? Other than to entertain us?

By the way, gun “control” as an issue is dead, stick a fork in it.
April 1st, 2022 at 10:52 am
E, stop blaming the victims.
I have been assured by every media story that the shooters and rioters were Spring Breakers. That means they were college students from out-of-state who brought their guns to Florida cause trouble, not native Floridians causing trouble on their own.
Blaming local victims for the acts of out-of-town criminals is not who we are. You can do better.

A Vanity Fair story on the literal conspiracy, by US gov’t employees Fauci and Francis Collins, to suppress fact-based discussion about the Wuhan Virology Institute being the source of covid-19.
Really awful stuff.

Regarding the lack of college logos, hard to get that on a string bikini, don’t ya think? Seriously, I would agree that I’ve got some serious doubts about whether those are actually spring breakers in some of those videos. It’s at least a remarkable concentration of students from minority communities.
Regarding COVID, absolutely, it’s worth questioning what portion are due to COVID, and which are “including COVID.” Out in the non-government world, we have ways of estimating this, and interestingly, these methods originated in NASA. It’s not like government types cannot do this. Will not, maybe, but cannot, no.

“What a perfect picture of US leftist controlled cities in 2022. Unrestrained gun violence on public streets of every single large leftist controlled city. black thugs shooting each other and everyone in the area without a care in the world.”
FTFY dimwit. You’re welcome
April 1st, 2022 at 10:13 pm
The legend is that during spring break the beaches and seaside bars of FL are full of college girls looking to have a good time with young college guys they do not know. I suppose some of that goes on, but I wonder how many of the “college girls” are hookers?
Or am I being too cynical?

MP, that Vanity Fair piece was long, but worth the read.
Once again, government money corrupted scientists and their science.
If the investigation was correct, Fauchi is a feckless, self important nitwit who let his office run wild, but was not necessarily directly implicated in criminal activities until it came time to cover it up. He does not have plausible deniability.
I’m left with the impression Fauchi has perjured himself not to hide crimes, but to hide his incompetence.
I doubt anyone will be convicted for their crimes (they never are), but for a guy like Fauchi, the destruction of his credibility is just as satisfying.

MP, I have a lengthy response to the lengthy Vanity Fair piece in moderation.
I will add to it by saying it gives Rand Paul a full load out of ammo mplkm

Breaking:
“CDC confirms risk of heart issues after COVID-19 infection, 2nd vax dose”
“The report released April 1 paints the picture of ongoing risks and negative health outcomes that could spring up after a patient has gotten COVID-19. The report also touches on the potential risk of heart issues after receiving an mRNA vaccine for the coronavirus. The two mRNA vaccines available are from Pfizer and Moderna“
Yeah, it “touches” on healthy young men dropping dead after getting juiced…what do?
Authorize a third dose, of course!
Ya know, there’s a silver lining in all this fuckery. Lot’s of low IQ numbskulls getting BTFO the planet.

Apparently, JD, some of those CAns couldn’t afford to get to Miami, so they decided to make due at home. Just like those get’r’done types in Chicago do. Every weekend. Or day.
