Had a rough weekend. Low grade fever, chills, sensitive skin, slept for hours. Finally got a lab test on Tuesday: positive for Covid. No Thanksgiving for me. You guys can split my share of the pie.
I’m fortunate to have a mild case. Four days of down time, about like we had in The Olden Days when somebody got the Flu, before Covid took over the entire world. Worked half a day yesterday and I’m “at work” today, sitting at my home computer pushing electrons around. Thank you, Lord, that I have an easy, indoor, sit-down job. This is why modern Americans survive at such high rates compared to other nations or historical times . . . I have paid leave, warm housing, plenty to eat. Prosperity does indeed save lives. If only the damned Liberals would quit trying to destroy it.

If any of you have yet to read that piece of crap Build Back Better bill, might want to do so, then burn up the phones of our Commies in office. Some low lights:
1. Taxes of 30% on natural gas, heating oil and electricity. With winter coming on, this will kill people.
2. $3,600 for every illegal child brought into the country and for every one they have after they get here.
3. $80,000 tax breaks for wealthy residents of NY, NJ and CA. Gotta protect that donor base.
4. Increase the IRS by 70,000 people and monitor/audit anyone making transactions of $600 per year. Yup! Only for the wealthy, of course.
The CBO posits that repayment will fall over $700 billion SHORT, which should be no surprise to anyone.
We are so screwed!

The aggregate statistics on Covid deaths and hospitalizations exaggerate the risk to most Americans, because a disproportionate share of severe illness occurs among people with specific medical vulnerabilities. The problem is caused by the unvaccinated in ICU’s.
Now that we have vaccines, boosters, *and* vaccination for small kids, it’s time to end all the masking and other measures, especially in high vaccination areas. You’re not going to get the dead-enders to vaccinate; we should just accept that.

Then tell us why the numbers of new WuFlu cases are climbing in DemoCommie run states, while GOP run states are dropping? Further, Colorado Governor Jared Polis, a DemoCommie, said that he is not mandating masks in schools, because he looked at data on cases in New Mexico, that has school masking and determined that their numbers were equal to Colorado. He didn’t outright say that masks don’t work, but gave proof.

Apparently Gov. Walz realizes his failure. On a phone press conference he said, “We all know, that there’s no correlation between me using Emergency Powers, that actually shows that it protected people, or made a difference.” Some media folk apparently woke up enough at that to say, “Wait, what?”, and the Goobernor tried to walk it back, saying that having vaccines means that emergency powers are no longer the “best tool” at his disposal.

How many people died OF Covid, not just WITH Covid or DURING the Covid pandemic? Knowing this would help me evaluate my risk.

As long as the government’s numbers are untrustworthy, I don’t trust those numbers. Hearing politicians insist on public policy solutions based on untrustworthy numbers raises suspicion, which leads to delusion, paranoia and conspiracy theory.
The government has the power to end the delusion, paranoia and conspiracy by an infusion of sunshine: give us the honest numbers, the straight truth, let us decide for ourselves. Why not? What could possibly go wrong with treating citizens as responsible adults instead of mushrooms?

Couldn’t help but notice the sallow complexion and lack of vigor among the inmates of the leftist controlled states I passed through (IL, MN) compared to the happy, healthy glow of folks in NC, TN, KY and IN.
Must be something in the water.
