There Was A Time…

…when I would have looked at an event like today’s 83rd anniversary of Kristallnacht and nodded and thought “good thing our society is smarter than that these days”.

Because November 9 is the anniversary of the largest pogrom in ihistory:

In a statement to representatives of the foreign press, Goebbels responded to the outrage at Germany’ assault on its half-million Jewish citizens by challenging the Western democracies: “If there is any country that believes it has not enough Jews, I shall gladly turn over to it all our Jews.” But not one country said they would take the Jews of Germany.

After this last couple of years, I’m really not so sure.

Antisemitism is back on the rise…:

It’s incredible how little has changed in eighty-three years. Children’s textbooks are filled with anti-Jewish hatred in the Palestinian territories while others call Abbas and his underlings “moderates. “Islamic Clerics throughout the world call for the death of Jews, and a recent AJC study reported that Antisemitism runs rampant in France.

And given our crippling tribalism, and the dehumanization of other ‘tribes” that runs rampant in tribalist societies (Rwanda, Bosnia, Burma and India for some modern examples), I’m not exactly sanguine about everyone else either.

  1. A sign of the times: I saw a PSA that was intended to fight anti-Asian bigotry. It depicted an attack on a Chinese woman by a white family (done in stick figures) A white man, white woman, and their child.
The on going race-based attacks on Asians is a phenomenon of single black males.
So what the PSA did was depict white people as violent bigots.
That was its purpose. That is why it was made, that is why it was published.

  2. When the violence against Asians issue was first reported as a problem, my left leaning, true believer wife followed the media jackals in denouncing President Trump for calling out the ChiComs and their role in releasing the “WuFlu” on the world. She also follows the hive mind lies that Trump also caused a rise in white supremacy, which added fuel to the fire. When I pointed out that every recording of an attack on an Asian showed young black thugs beating up on elderly Asians, that were not Chinese. I told her, but then, these black thugs are just following Hillary Clinton’s statement on black people, “they all look alike”. I also challenged her to find me one video of a Trump rally, where black people in the crowd were being subjected to white supremacy. When she balked, I found at least five where whites, blacks, Asians and Hispanics, were standing shoulder to shoulder, cheering.

  3. I seem to remember Joe Doakes and others on SiTD refer to the Covid vaccine mandates being similar to communism and to wearing a star as the Jews once were forced to wear in Germany and it’s concentration camps.

Vaccine mandates are exactly like communism, if communism were about life-saving scientific breakthroughs rather than Gulags, immiseration, man-made famines, and mass deportations of nations.

  4. Life-saving breakthroughs like deciding to do research that enables the researchers to develop bioweapons, performed by scientists of a country that killed 65 million of its own citizens, forced mothers to abort their children, and which currently has nukes pointed at the United States? Do you mean that kind of “life-saving scientific breakthroughs”, the kind that apparently has cost millions of lives in the past year and a half, Emery?

Stupidity as bad as the NIH’s should be a criminal matter, to put it bluntly.

  5. the kind that apparently has cost millions of lives in the past year and a half

Not so fast, bike. Italian health ministry just reclassified and recounted deaths from Wuhan Flu vs deaths with Wuhan Flu. Care to guess the impact? Fine, I won’t keep you in suspense – 97% less. Yep, all digits and decimal points are in the right place – 97% less.

So keeping with the theme of the post, it is all about propaganda. If there is another WWII movie made, Fauxchi should be cast as Goebbels, they have similar ideologies, methods and even look alike.

  6. I see Emery is back in his “Argument from assertion” mode.
He’s tried just about everything except “Argument from reason.”
He has a problem with that one. It’s much easier to assert “you must get vaxxed!” than it is to say “This is why you must get vaxxed!”
That is because he really doesn’t know anything about you, just like the CDC maniacs and the politicians who insist that you get the vaccine.
When I chat with people about whether or not they’ve been vaccinated (and who hasn’t?) I am surprised how many say that their GP has been ambivalent, a clear majority.
If you are going to trust someone’s opinion about the vax, it should be your doctor who knows you and has an interest in your health.
Not the Liberal Arts graduate you have never met who is appointed “director of public health”

  7. JPA, the information they want to keep you from seeing is the information you need to make an informed decision.
This is because they do not want you to make an informed decision.
The petty tyrants have been exposed.
“This is not about freedom or personal choice” Said Joe Biden.

  8. If you are going to trust someone’s opinion about the vax, it should be your doctor who knows you and has an interest in your health.

Not true. Not anymore and not for a while with a few notable exceptions. Doctors today are more interested in latest model Ferraris and fear losing their license if they dare to go against the CDC/NIH/ADA/AMA orthodoxy. Their decisions are made solely to benefit their bank account and nothing to benefit you.

  9. JPA, you need to have a doctor you trust, of course.
My sample size was limited, and it was all 2nd hand, but I was surprised how many people said that their doctor told them it was up to them.
Public health is a very different thing than your personal health.

  10. It’s weird and worth noting that the right-wing position on the vaccine has gone from saying people have “the right to choose” if they want it to asserting that it is affirmatively bad and shouldn’t even be encouraged.

  11. The right wing position on vaccinations is unchanged, Emery’s obsession with other people’s vax status has driven deeper into insanity.

  12. “It’s weird and worth noting that the right-wing position on the vaccine has gone from saying people have “the right to choose” if they want it to asserting that it is affirmatively bad and shouldn’t even be encouraged.”

Not true; but even if it were, we’d be following THE SCIENCE, adjusting our recommendation as new facts emerge, same as “Elbow Bump” Fauci became “Double Mask Fauci” and is now “Jab the Kids Fauci.”

At this point, I’ve gathered enough information to conclude that voluntarily taking the vaccine is an intelligence test akin to the Darwin Awards. But hey, get jabbed if you want it. Just leave the rest of us alone. We’ll die in peace and thereby reduce the surplus population you’re always fretting about.

  13. I was at my gun club recently. Another member explained to me that smallpox has been eradicated. It doesn’t exist anywhere in the world aside from a couple of biological warfare labs. So that proves vaccines are good and I should get the Covid shot.

He was unable to grasp the distinction between a sterilizing vaccine which provides immunity (smallpox) versus a non-sterilizing vaccine which stimulates immune response but does not confer immunity (Covid). In his mind, the word “vaccine” means they’re identical.

He is the product of government intentionally mis-labeling the product. If private business did that . . . .

The E-collective, on the other hand, knows the difference and intentionally lies about it.

  14. Just leave the rest of us alone. We’ll die in peace

I didn’t read the article and don’t intend to because I am sure it exists only to serve Mark Twain’s purpose of statistics (and so Emery’s). I will note, however, that a mortality rate of 0.025% in normal times would be barely in the top 20. This is all so over-hyped.

  15. Apparently, numb nuts Emery missed the most recent plandemic numbers. Florida has the lowest number of new cases and deaths, with the numbers dropping. Meanwhile, the two biggest collections of true believing sheep, New York and California, are growing.

Sorry, Emery, but your dog won’t hunt.

  16. Isn’t it a stereotype that New York Jews retire to Florida, which is Trump territory?

If the E-boys are correct about the SCIENCE, Covid should be hitting the trifecta: kill residents in a vax-not-mandatory state; kill Jews; kill Republicans.

What’s not to love, E? Why so much complaining? This is even better news for your side than Kristallnacht, which was the subject of the post you thread-jacked.

  17. The hoops the libs will jump through to somehow make conservatives responsible for covid deaths is remarkable.
If state level stats show gobbledy-gook (as they do), then pitch red county against blue county — but ignore the bluest counties have the highest population of blacks, who are more vax hesitant than republicans. They could use zip code data and get finer granularity, but those numbers show gobbledy-gook, too.
If it was obvious that unvaxxed were getting sick from covid and dying from it at much higher rates than the vaxxed, people of all political persuasions would be busting down doors to get vaxxed. People would fighting for a place in line.
But in fact not many people are getting covid, about 30,000/day in the US are testing positive for covid, that’s about 1/10,000 Americans testing positive per day, the overwhelming majority of whom will never see the inside of a hospital.

  18. Don’t be bamboozled. We know with absolute certainty that the one policy that led to horrific numbers of deaths among our most helpless citizens was the policy of sending covid-positive people from hospitals to long term care facilities. Where this happened, these long term care facilities became abattoirs.
This was done primarily by liberal, democrat governors, and we know why they did it — it is what their “public health experts” advised. Advised, not ordered.
These governors were elected with the knowledge that they might have to make life or death decisions. They folded, they put the “public health experts” in charge of their state’s response to covid-19. The results was tens of thousands of preventable deaths.
Every one knows this. It is beyond doubt that this happened, we have the words of Walz and Cuomo themselves, as they sought to shift blame onto others, that this is what happened.
We also know why the “public health experts” advised this. They were looking at models that showed hospitals being overrun if they did not move covid patients out to long term care facilities.
The models were wrong. People died not just because the models were wrong, but because “public health experts” put their faith in these broken models.
people should go to prison for this. Has anyone even been fired for this?
    Nope.
Hence the intelligent, entirely rational response of a large segment of the public to ignore the “public health experts.” You could literally grab random people off the stree and you would have gotten better advice.

  19. MP, my take is that if we were concerned about hospitals being overrun, there are thousands of empty big box stores in the country that could have easily been turned into impromptu COVID wards, and they chose instead to keep “doing things the way they always had. Out of work tradesmen would have jumped at the opportunity to build these wards, and we could have kept COVID patients and their care teams out of the general population. (give the nurses and doctors double pay for their trouble, it would have been a whole lot cheaper than what we did!)

Where is the “outside the box” thinking for those involved in healthcare? It’s not like “quarantining the sick” hasn’t been an effective tactic for dealing with infectious disease for millenia, after all–except it has. The thinking seems to be “we have a once in a lifetime issue here, so let’s keep doing things like we always have.”

  20. I think rat Emery and his 80 IQ fellow juicers should get hooked up and start hauling IV stands full of bug juice around to show how much they care about everyone else.

After all, the juice is harmless, you can never be too safe and love knows no bounds.

  21. If you are ever considering treating Emery as a person that is sane, remember that he continues to believe that Trump colluded with Putin to steal the 2016 election from Hillary.
This is like believing that NASA faked the moon landing or that British royalty are actually lizard people from space.

  22. As bikebubba mentioned, there were a lot of empty Big Box stores that could have been converted to care centers, especially with the COVID money being pumped out. Our governor even spent $7 million to buy an empty building – to hold dead bodies, not provide care, of course.
