None Dare Call It Slander

I mean, when even Bill Maher gets uncomfortable…

Former North Dakota Senator and current useless mouth Heidi Heitkamp calls Gina Carano a “Nazi”. Plain and simple, full stop.

I’ll chalk this up to the (utterly true) idea that any Democrat can parrot any narrative twaddle, no matter how moronic, without fear, knowing that their audience hasn’t the critical thinking skills to call them on it. Or anything.

But I won’t get mad. I’ll just get on the air. I sent this to her Facebook page.

Senator,

I’m Mitch Berg. I grew up in Jamestown. My mother, Jan Berg/Brooks, was a volunteer for any number of your campaigns at the state and federal level.

I fell a bit farther from the tree, politically, of course.

I’d like to make a media request – I’d love to interview y ou on my show (WWTC AM1280) in the Twin Cities regarding your assertion that Gina Carano is a “Nazi”.

I can either do it live on Saturday at 2PM, or record an interview at any time convenient to you.

Hope we can discuss this.

Thanks.

Why, sure – I expect a response! Why wouldn’t I?

  1. I’d rather you interview your mom, and get to the root of her problem.

  2. Wouldn’t be much of an interview, I’m afraid. She’s in a nursing home with a more advanced version of whatever it is ailing our President.

Unlke every Democrat, I won’t stoop to elder abuse.

  3. Also – Heitkamp made moderate-y noises when she was in NoDak, like a lot of rural Democrats. It’s how she became the last of a generation of Dems representing one of the most conservative states there is.

Exposing how very two-faced she had become was a key part of retiring her.

  4. If you actually get Heitkamp, don’t mention Carano. Instead describe the parallels between the CCP and the Nazis & see if you can get her to condemn the CCP in the same terms she used to condemn Carrano.
These woke creatures are cowards, they only punch down.

  5. Just mindless prattle from Heitkamp! She thinks she’s funny but in reality she further demonstrates how shallow and callous her and her lot are.

  6. I’m surprised that she hasn’t faced a shit storm of blow back from North Dakotans. Maybe she has and we haven’t seen it yet.

I expected much more from the citizens of the state that once, if it was a separate country, would have been the third largest military power on earth. 😁

  7. Well Mitch, I’m sincerely sorry to hear your mom is in decline.

But I wont excuse her lapses in judgement any more than I would my own mother, who actually repented her ill considered choices before she left the planet.

The situation they, and other boomers have left us in defies excuse making.

  8. Boss, I think that she made it in Nordakota by hiding who she really was, and then Heitkamp was free to be that person after she got thumped in her last election. Having seen the real Heitkamp, Nordakotans are glad to be rid of her, I’d guess.

Regarding her slanders, it’s pretty obvious, and the question is whether Heitkamp knew she was doing so. Proving slander in court is tough business, especially for Carano, who does seem ot have access to the press to some degree.

  10. Maybe some day, some brave guest will actually ask Maher about HBO’s ties to China and the CCP. We are talking about a regime whose crimes include genocide, gang-rape as law enforcement, and executing prisoners so they can harvest their organs.
Say — ever heard Emery say a word against the Chinese?
    His silence speaks volumes.
Russia is a country led by a tin horn dictator, Putin, who uses his security services as a private police force to carry out extra-legal executions, while robbing the country blind. No one seems to have a problem condemning Russia for not living up to Western standards of civil rights.
But so many on the Left are silent about the worse abuses that go on in China.

  11. My Dad was born in 1929 but insists he wasn’t responsible for the Stock Market Crash. He lived through the privations of the Great Depression and World War II. He ended up a life-long Democrat because FDR/Truman saved the nation and won the war.

There’s no way for logic or reason to alter cherished beliefs acquired that young. Older citizens like Mitch’s Mom and my Dad are not to blame; the people to blame are those using the reputation and goodwill of FDR/Truman to implement the policies of Fidel Castro and Robert Mugabe.

  12. JD, one of my great grandmothers was born in southern Missouri in the 1890s. Until the day she died she had two framed pictures on her wall, one on either side of the stove pipe. One was FDR, the other was Hank Williams.

  13. MBerg — I see they’ve evacuated Madora ND which is located at gateway to the Roosevelt National Park .

Beautiful area — a group of us make a yearly trek to MTB the Maah Daah Hey trail. Hope they’re able to get a handle on the fires.

If they continued to vote Democrat, I respectfully disagree.

People have come to believe that FDR was held as a hero universally in the US. That is not true. Although millions did credit him with digging them out of their financial hole, millions more denounced him for the wretched Socialist he was and for failing to act on intelligence he had prior to the sneak attack at Pearl Harbor.

There are many who believed then, and now, that FDR sacrificed the Pacific fleet to get us into WWII. I’m not sure I’d go that far, but he sure was glad we did, without a doubt. It is also indisputable that his refusal to engage Stalin after the war (against the advice of his top military commanders) was a colossal mistake for which America has paid and continued to pay dearly.

  16. jimf; nah, I’m not asking. But I admit that I was fair enough to Heitkamp to look up her milder claim–that Carano “hung with white supremacists”–to figure out that there was apparently no evidence of that besides Heitkamp’s own statements.

Regarding FDR, agreed that his work probably extended the Depression by about a decade, and I would even dare guess helped Hitler and Stalin to solidify their grips on Germany and the Soviet Union. Sadly–e.g. Ford selling Model A tooling to the Soviets and providing skilled engineers to support it–FDR had a lot of help. And a lot of people suffered because of it.

Where are our blind spots this way?

  17. Carano has allied herself with Ben Shapiro & the Daily Wire.
The woke left considers the Daily Wire to be a white supremacist outfit.
