Money Pedals The World

SCENE: Mitch BERG is shoveling landscaping dirt into a wheelbarrow, distracted. Avery LIBRELLE pedals up the alleyway on, naturally, a recumbent fat-tire bike, catching BERG by surprise.

LIBRELLE: Merg!

BERG: Aaaaah, fffffffor crying out loud, Avery, long time no see. What’s…

LIBRELLE: America is built around structural racism.

BERG: Our “structurally racist” country elected a black president, twice, and we have a sitting Veep who is Black and South Asian.

LIBRELLE: Yeah, but that’s just politics.

BERG: OK. This country is capitalist, right?

LIBRELLE: Ugh. Yes. Ick.

BERG: And under capitalism – well, the parody of it you people observe – all things evolve back to money, right?

LIBRELLE: Ugh, yes. Awful.

BERG: Right. And there are few places in our society where “money” and the people who spend it are as attuned to peoples attitudes as in advertising.

And perhaps you’ve noticed – in advertising these days, “people of color” are represented waaaay out of proportion with their share of American demographics. And remember fifty years ago, when Norman Lear got all “transgressive” and cast a biracial couple as bit players on All in the Family? Pretty scandalous stuff, back then – but interracial couples are kinda the “it” thing in advertising these days.

Now – given the ad industry’s focus on consumer attitudes, and capitalism’s imperative to make money work, would advertisers be pushing “racial diversity” in ads if the general public, including the white middle class which makes up a large portion of advertisers targets, were just frothing with racial hate?

LIBRELLE: You notice skin color in ads?

BERG: I notice trends in advertising, a key part of the industry I grew up in and which is still my avocation.

LIBRELLE: That’s racist.

BERG: No, it’s utterly clinical. But shall I just ignore everyone’s race? Because that’s pretty much my default setting…

LIBRELLE: No, that’s racist, too…

BERG: So the only thing that’s not “racist” is shutting up and letting you tell me what to think?

LIBRELLE: Pretty much.

BERG: Naturally. Hey, loook (points into the distance) – a garbage truck!

(LIBRELLE looks around – giving BERG an opening to slip away) .

  1. The archetype of the New American, according to the “We 😍 Diversity(tm)” crew has uniformly brown curly hair, brown eyes and skin the color of mud.

    Red hair 😡
    Blonde hair 😡
    Straight hair (without relaxer) 😡
    Blue eyes 😡
    Green eyes 😡
    Grey eyes 😡
    “Yellow” skin 😡

    “Black” skin 😡
Creamy, silky smooth, alabaster skin 😡🤬😡🤬😡🤬😡🤬🗡️🗡️🗡️

As a consequence, and an Equality bonus to the woke, IQ will also level off around 90-95.

    This is fine.

  2. I don’t like the idea that the US should remain a “white country.” People aren’t their skin color. I would rather deal with a Christian from Nigeria than a white pagan from Nebraska..

Before you go too far, MO, take a walk around the nearest large city, and count the number of “Christian churches” that fly the homo flag, arrange adoptions for men shacking up together, allow secular, reprobate leftist politicians and SJW’s to preach unwholesome beliefs from the pulpit, but nary a Christian cross is to be seen.

Then look up the Asatru Folk Assembly, which has just set up shop in Minnesota.

Nihau is a private island which promotes the preservation of pure Hawaiian culture and race….should a couple of boatloads of African refugees be landed there to promote diversity?

  5. BTW Mo, I’d be remiss not to point out the number of children, mostly pre-pubescent boys, that have been molested by “Christian” pastors and priests, and of course all of the Evangelical pastors that preach piety, but have been found pilfering their flocks and leading very unwholesome lives themselves.

  6. Pete, it’s worth noting that Christians from Africa do tend to have a stronger adherence to Scripture than typical Americans, even in the same denominations. I’m with MO here. Granting the reality that too many pastors and priests have done abominable things, the American republic does indeed lie on a foundation of Judeo-Christian thought, and a genuine believer is far less hazard than that pagan from Nebraska whose daughters are eligible for DAR.

Notice also how many homosexual couples are being featured today as well. Next emphasis will be on transsexual types. They’re trying to force folks to accept these new “norms” or risk being “cancelled”.

I’m optimistic that it’ll all blow up in their faces at some point.

  8. My statement that “I don’t like the idea that the US should remain a ‘white country.’”
    could have been clearer.
At some point patriotism — a virtue — becomes the worship of a nation as an idol, a thing that is God.
The ship has sailed. In 1950 the population of the United States was 90% white. It is now about 70% and dropping. You cannot return to the 90% number without taking drastic, revolutionary action, without denying people their rights under the constitution, and that would be un-American.

But be of good cheer! The fact that the enemies of America seek to destroy her by making her a majority non-white country means that they have lost the plot.

I’ve noticed that on the HGTV shows involving buying/renovating a home. About 1/3 of the couples featured are 2 gay men.
