We Have Reached “Peak Progressive Snowflake”

Truth is a trigger, apparently.

A far-left progressive representative relates the “emotional toll” of having black female politicians’ “violent” rhetoric (if we’re using Trump’s rhetoric on January as the standard) in Trump’s defense:

“The defense council put a lot of videos out in their defense, playing clip after clip of Black women talking about fighting for a cause or an issue or a policy. It was not lost on me as so many of them were people of color, and women, Black women. Black women like myself who are sick and tired of being sick and tired for our children. Your children,” Plaskett said.

Earlier in the day on Friday, Trump’s defense attorneys spent a great deal of their closing arguments accusing Democrats of hypocrisy over their support of last summer’s protests for racial justice. In doing so, his team played video footage from the summer protests, zeroing in on the relatively rare instances of violence and looting that occurred during the demonstrations.

TL:dr – Orange Man Bad, for the children.

So either using the term “fight” is aggressive rhetoric, or it’s “incitement”. End of story.

Pick one.

Keep your triggers off my – our, Western Civilization’s – logic, laws and reasoning.

  1. Note the typical leftist media lie:
“relatively rare instances of violence and looting during the “demonstrations”.

  2. Low IQ black women screech to be heard. Well, we heard them.

Reek copied and pasted a talking point about the consequences of free speech in relation to Rep. Greene’s disgraceful treatment.

Have any of those screeching black women faced those consequences? Lol, no.

  3. According to WaPo “fact checker” Glenn Kessler, while Trump lied constantly, Biden simply “misstates facts.”
So there. It cannot be disputed because Kessler is not an opinion writer, he is a FACT CHECKER!

  4. As Ronald Reagan wisely noted:

“It isn’t so much that liberals are ignorant. It’s just that they know so much that isn’t so”.

I loved the way that he called the left liars. It had so much more impact.

  5. The Left seems to interpret the rhetoric from the Right as literal and excuse rhetoric from the Left as figurative.

When Jared Loughner shot up the crowd in Tucson, the Left tried to zero in (pun most definitely intended) on Palin’s use of crosshairs on politically vulnerable Congressional Democrats in their runs for re-election. It was hate speech that couldn’t be tolerated! Then someone pointed out how the Democrats also used crosshairs for the same thing. It became a nothing-burger to all but the most committed Palin-haters, especially when Loughner’s politics were revealed to be all over the map and more likely to lean left.

Democrats say “fight like hell” and it’s implied that they mean through peaceful protest. Trump says “fight like hell” and even explicitly says to do so peacefully, and we’re supposed to draw the conclusion that he meant to storm the Capitol.

  6. Welcome to doublespeak. What is an armed insurrection(without the arms) is a peaceful demonstration (with looting and killing and burning and raping and secession) to others. Orwell wrote a dandy manual.

  7. When discussing the January6th riots, always start with the facts:
None of the rioters were armed.
Officer Sicknick was not killed by the rioters
The only person deliberately killed was Trump supporter Ashli Babbit. She was killed by an unknown person, rumored to be private security.
The other 4 people who died were all Trump supporters who suffered medical emergencies.
That is all that we know.

  8. This is kind of a threadjack but it is about c0mmunists. And how they destroy everything they touch. Kevin Williamson wrote an article in NR about the far-left takeover of Mpls, Minnesota Nasty. I would be very interested to know if it rings true to you Minneapolitans or those knowledgeable of Mpls.

  9. If the left didn’t have double standards, they’d have none at all. One may as argue, to parahprase the words of the late Chicago Tribune columnist Mike Royko, the the defense by the left for their use of inflammatory rhetoric is that the average leftist couldn’t bench press a tuna salad sandwich. Which is a fun slam, but as thousands of urban business owners and residents know all too well, isn’t exactly true.

  10. JDM – yes, Minneapolis politics are nasty. There is one old school liberal left on the council – Kevin Reich. Decent guy, but he barely survived last election against far left progressive with a lot of outside money.. He’s the guy that helped get the brewery district going. He understood economic development and tries to help businesses.

In general, I agree with the article. There’s some points I’d dispute, but it’s an intro. As another example of how bad it’s getting, there was a group of youth walking down a residential street the other night, checking car doors. Every single car door. And, of course, no police to respond.

  11. I find lots to agree with in Williamson’s article. My last visit downtown took me to a concert at First Ave. Ended up waiting for a train to MOA because Uber prices were insane. Saw the usual riff raff and later learned there was a shooting 3 blocks away. Not going back.
