Of Consequence

I’ll just commend to you this thread by John Hayward – perhaps the thing most worth reading on the misbegotten morass that is Twitter in a long, long time – without further comment:

Other than urging you to drill in and read the whole thing.

  1. Oh, there’s lots of good items on Twitter. Hayward is always good. I mentioned this thread from James Lindsay yesterday because I think it is the most realistic of all the various threads on this topic.

People keep asking me how we win this. We don’t win. LOL. We throw sand in the gears and wait for the thing to grind itself into its own destruction, hope we don’t lose everything in the process, and start rebuilding after the catastrophe ends. Winning has left the building.

Tyranny is upon us. It may not last long, but it has already begun. The logic is inexorable and, for all intents and purposes now, unstoppable. The Bolshevik revolution was one thing, Hungarian another, Czech another. Those are the kinds of choices we have now.

  2. You cannot win a fight against an enemy that knows no rules. He will never concede defeat.

  3. You cannot win a FAIR fight against an enemy that knows no rules. True.

An enemy that refuses to follow the rules can be defeated, but not by following the rules he refuses to honor. That’s a guarantee for losing and that’s my problem with RINOs and NeverTrumpers and the “vote harder next time” crowd.

Defeating enemy who refuses to follow the rules requires me to be willing to match him in acting outside the rules. Sensible people realize this attitude creates a downward spiral to a no-holds-barred fight to the death and therefore sensible people do whatever they can to avoid it.

The Liberals destroying the nation are not acting as sensible people. Which, sadly, means that if we want to win this fight, we can’t, either.

    And that terrifies me.

I believe they call that “ruthlessness”, JD, and one of the many reasons the Left seemed to absolutely despise Trump: He’s an obnoxious and crude jerk, dealing with a litany of obnoxious and crude jerks in the media and the Left (pardon the redundancy) who’ve gone soft after years of using genteel, country-club Republicans as rhetorical punching bags. They didn’t seem to like it when he sank to their level.

  5. Hayward is on the right path, but I’ll go him one step better.

Not only is it ethical to employ unethical tactics against the reprobates, the job isn’t complete until their heads are displayed on pikes to discourage any repeats.

If I’m not speaking literally, the reality I’m alluding to can’t be much less discouraging or final for leftists.

  6. Before anyone heads to the fainting couch, let me remind you all that the first official act of the revolutionary government of the Soviet Union, was to liquidate the Czar, wife and all his children lest they remain a beacon of hope for the population the Bolsheviks meant to crush.

The reprobates that are operating the levers of American government right now are doing them one better. They’re not only disappearing our people, they’re disappearing our culture, religion, history, traditions and even our language.

It’s a level of scorched Earth General Sherman could never have imagined as he burned Columbia SC to the ground with the people in it.
