I Feel About 75% Safe In Predicting…

…that this loathsome incident

A doll found hanging off a Main Street building in Plains is causing controversy.

Controversial enough to get the United States Secret Service involved.

Witnesses say it was an image of President Barack Obama with a rope around his neck, and the display was found hanging in one of the city’s most recognizable sites dedicated to former President Jimmy Carter.

…will:

a) be blamed on the “climate of hate” that all conservative opposition to Obama is being speciously linked to, and

b) eventually be found to be a hoax by a lefty trying to discredit conservatives.

I said 75% safe.  Not a lock, just fairly confident.

We’ve been down this road a few times.

  1. Well heck, Michele (Teh Crazee) Bachmann got that poor census worker killed down there. Didn’t she?

  2. 75% huh?

Ok, I mean after all, the hoaxes vs. the actual situations of hateful acts certainly are running 3:1.

I recall clearly that the pictures of all the Presidents (ok drawings) circulated in Tennessee with Obama shown just as two white eyes on a black background was done the by DNC.

And I recall equally clearly the cartoon of watermelons on the lawn of the White House was actually sent by Howard Dean..

And I know that the guy who shot two cops in Pennsylvania because ‘Obama was going to take guns’ was the local Democratic Party Chair..

And I know that the New York Post is a well known left-leaning paper, masquerading as a right-leaning one – just so it can pull exactly these kinds of hoaxes where Obama’s ideas are portrayed (stupidly) as monkeys.

Yep, I know of the rather more than 10 or 12 easaily identified situations of hateful speech about Obama, from Obamy to threats against his life, three of four were actually simply hoaxes perpetrated by the left, and us lefties simply do it to make you righties look like hate-filled imbeciles or worse.

I mean – all of the above is true isn’t it, isn’t it the case that 75% of the racist comments or threats are in fact left-wing hoaxes? I urge you to substantiate your reasons for your ‘safe’ feeling. I’ll give you a list of cases if you like and you can prove the left actually created them.

  3. BTW – are you aware that 33% of Georgians believe Georgia should secede from the Union – do you STILL think it’s specious to suggest they advocate a climate of hate.

  4. Mitch, here is something from today’s NRO that is up your alley:

    Fun with Numbers [Jonah Goldberg]
    Bart Hinkle writes:
More than 900 black males between the ages of 14 and 17 killed somebody in 2007. Should we be scared of young black guys?

Of course not. There are roughly 3 million black males in that age group in the United States. It would be horribly unfair to toss around the first statistic without mentioning the second; doing so would be misleading, if not malicious.

Now consider this statistic: Concealed handgun permit holders have killed 107 people since 2007. That news, from the Violence Policy Center in Washington, D.C., sounds pretty bad — until you put it in context. How many Americans have been issued a permit to carry a concealed weapon?

The Violence Policy Center doesn’t say. And it’s probably impossible to pin down a precise number, because records are kept on a state-by-state basis, and reporting criteria differ from state to state. But NRA estimates put the number in the neighborhood of 5 million, as of a couple of years ago. . . .

If that’s true, then the percentage of concealed-carry permit holders who have killed someone with a firearm comes to two one-thousandths of 1 percent. Yet to listen to the VPC’s Kristen Brand — who says “concealed handgun permit holders are killing people over parking spaces, football games, and family arguments” — you’d think the cohort of permit holders was as dangerous as the gang at Rikers Island.

  6. ha ha ha ha ha ha
peeveeBoy is spewing more “hate” speech.
ha ha ha ha ha ha

Now, now, Peni, run along back to PenisBlog and cry a river over “hate” speech, welfareBoy.

  7. 75% huh?

Ok, I mean after all, the hoaxes vs. the actual situations of hateful acts certainly are running 3:1.

    Well, no. If you count…:
    – hoaxed hate crimes – like the wave of hoax “hate attacks” at
SCSU not too long ago, and…
    – crimes attributed to “hate” that were in fact not (the Kentucky
census worker case that half the local media blamed on Michele
Bachmann before the body was cut down)
    – crimes attributed to hate that were in fact purely criminal (the
    Matthew Shepard murder)

…that the media tried to play up into hate crimes until they walked away with egg on their face, it’s more like dozens and dozens to one. I was being, yes, conservative.

I recall clearly that the pictures of all the Presidents (ok drawings) circulated in Tennessee with Obama shown just as two white eyes on a black background was done the by DNC.

No, but the ones showing Michael Steele as a minstrel boy certainly were.

And I recall equally clearly the cartoon of watermelons on the lawn of the White House was actually sent by Howard Dean..

Leave the pithy irony to the pros, Pen. Tasteless bias is an ugly part of human nature, and it’s equally represented by all political sides.

I’m talking about big media “hate” crime scares that turn out to be either hoaxes, or something very different. Do try to keep ’em straight.

And I know that the New York Post is a well known left-leaning paper, masquerading as a right-leaning one – just so it can pull exactly these kinds of hoaxes where Obama’s ideas are portrayed (stupidly) as monkeys.

Wasn’t aware that the NYPost was the voice of all conservatism. I thought it was Limbaugh or Glenn Beck. I have so trouble keeping track these days.

Well, yes. Some of you do. It happens, and not rarely.

are you aware that 33% of Georgians believe Georgia should secede from the Union – do you STILL think it’s specious to suggest they advocate a climate of hate.

I think your logic is specious. How on earth do you figure favoring secession is itself hateful?

I think you, like a lot of liberals, have turned “hate” into a synonym for “things I disagree with”.

  8. Mitch, much respect man but I have to question your number here.

Someone hung a black man in effigy, in Georgia, in public. And you are saying there is a 75% that someone (anyone) is going to think that it’s racist.

I think I’ll take the over.

  9. Angryclown going Old School with the Billy Beer ad. Roger Clinton and the Rodham brothers had much more ambition and tried to get their own brand of presidential pardons. I wonder if George Obama will get a licensing deal?
BTW, if secession is in-and-of-itself a racist thing, what about when Liberal (68% for Obama) lilly white (96% caucasion) Vermont tried to secede in ’05-’06? Based on Penigma’s reasoning, this makes Howard Dean a Grand Wizard (Sen. Byrd, is it Wizard or Dragon?) in the Klan. Instead he is the Chairman Emeritus of the Violent Cult known as the DNC.

  10. My thought was that it’s 100% likely to be blamed on a “climate of hate” (thanks Peeve for proving me right), and 75% likely to be a stupid stunt, very likely by the left.

  11. My thought was that it’s 100% likely to be blamed on a “climate of hate”

If you are a conservative, everything you do will be ascribed to hate, and everything you don’t do will be ascribed to hate.

Q: “If a conservative orders a pizza in the woods, and no liberal is there to hear it, is he still hateful?”

  12. It’s because you’re the hatey party, Mitch. Rich people, poor people, smart people, dumb people. Drag queens, pregnant teens, blacks and Jews and lezziebeans. You name ’em, YOU HATE ’em.

  13. So Mitch, was the angry white guy who killed a security guard in NV today simply a lefty-hoax too?

    http://trueslant.com/network/rss/

I mean, an angry muslim guy gets a gun and shoots up a military base in his anger over being deployed, it’s terrrrrizm.

An angry white guy shoots up court house in his anger over his belief that the gov’mint cut his benefits (irony there) because he’s a racist – not terrizm, no no, and apparently, he’s not even an anti-government freak, he’s really just a lefty put-up job – at least, I feel 75% safe in saying so.

  14. I really should go fishing with you sometime, Mitch. All you have to do is bait the hook and they all jump into your boat.

  15. Um, Peev, you ARE aware that the odds of any criminal in Nevada being a white guy are pretty good–like almost as good as they are in North Dakota, right?

And OK, we grant that when we have a welfare state, people get irate when benefits are denied. This supports a liberal position exactly how?

  16. Gee Peev, an angry muslim guy gets a gun and shoots up a military base after being counselled by an al Qaeda imam. Sounds like terrrrrizm to me.

  17. Um, Peev, looked up the source, and Wicks was ….black…..you need some work on your reading comprehension, to put it mildly.

A lone black man, not a young Nigerian with extensive contacts with Yemeni agents of Al Qaida. But evidently you can’t see that little difference…
