The Fix

Macalester students, forced to “study” remotely, get not a dime’s worth of break on their tuition.

Their institutions’ president has other priorities:

Now might be a fine time for conservative entrepreneurs to start getting into the higher ed business.

  1. Or start paying the fines & bail of people arrested for civil disobeduence & rioting (aka violence) outside of abortion clinics, teachers’ gatherings, etc.

  2. I’m sure everyone will be shocked that one of Dr. Rivera’s degrees is a master of social work (isn’t that racist?) from Berkeley.

OK, being a bit more serious here, what this means is that going forward, Macalester students have the expectation that when they get arrested at a violent protest, the school will back them up. That means, transitively, that when area businesses get burned by Macalester students, the school is partially liable.

Stroke of genius, Dr. Rivera. Stroke of genius.

  3. One addendum; the statements from Macalester say that it’s for “peaceful” demonstrations, but (a) the police really aren’t arresting for that and (b) a tremendous portion of those demonstrations are not peaceful. I think that the owners of that Autozone, and Cub and Target, ought to look at Macalester students’ social media and see if they can get compensated.

  4. Everyone that pays tuition to that monument to nescience is getting exactly what they paid for. Blowing their money bailing their misfits out of jail doesn’t impact any of us.

What does impact us are the crimes they committed in order to be arrested in the first place. Places like Macalester have trained these reprobates and set them loose upon us. That is our business to attend to.
