A little background: I support capital punishment for every reason but one – the inevitability, whether through accident or deliberate prosecutorial malfeasance, of executing innocent people. It’s already happened at least once, and at least 14 executions in the last since the death penalty was rebuilding a 19 7600s of people have been released directly from death row, their convictions “beyond a reasonable doubt“ vacated, very frequently because of prosecutorial misconduct.

That’s a sign, if you think about it, somethings very, very wrong with capital punishment.

Kamala Harris is one of those things that is very, very wrong.

I have a little personal background with a case of a man wrongly convicted in a grisly rape and murder case,

He spent those 22 years on death row because a prosecutor withheld exculpatory evidence that would have led to his acquittal in the initial trial.

There is no circle in hell cold enough for a prosecutor who withholds exculpatory evidence in any case – least of all a death penalty case.

Kamala Harris has a long history of playing fast and loose with ethics rules, including gundecking exculpatory evidence in capital cases.

People like that aren’t fit to be president of the United States.

People like that aren’t fit to be mulch, morally speaking.

  1. Fun fact: Donald Trump was a Kamala Harris donor.

Not a fan of Harris. But I always ask: compared to what? Is her criminal justice record bad? Yes. But that’s pretty much par for the course for Democrats. Biden’s got some drifters in that crawlspace too. And better than Trump and the GOP he’s perverted? Oh hell yes.

  2. Donald Trump donated to the political campaign of a Black woman running for public office a decade ago, which helped her win re-election.

    Worst. White Supremancist. Ever.

Gosh, I guess the same conservatives who were real worried about due process all of a sudden during impeachment are also real worried about criminal justice reform now that Harris is the pick. Coincidence!

You mean that entirely political process in which no evidence was provided by the prosecution, and what little was actually alleged was later found to be completely fabricated showed that the “conservatives” were wrong that due process was violated by Schiff, Pelosi and company? Really? An “indictment” and “prosecution” that was pulled forward without investigation for political reasons? You’re calling what they did “due process”? I’m glad you’re nowhere near any sort of legal or justice function. Your ideas of justice are frankly disgusting. And as for criminal justice reform, Trump’s been talking about that for far longer than Obama, and well before Harris was selected.

I’m with Mitch on this. I don’t care if it were Barr being accused of withhold exculpatory evidence in a capital case, nor if Barr were trying to excuse a completely fabricated confession. In both those cases the LEAST those prosecutors deserved was firing and disbarment, and their boss (Harris, Barr, whomever) should have been sanctioned by the courts. There’s no excuse for that behavior even if you’re charging Stalin for his crimes.

  5. There have been some reports that the Chicago looters also targeted a Ronald McDonald house during their crime spree. There were allegedly at least three sick children in the house. I would support capital punishment for those butt holes.

Further proof the it’s not about race or a pandemic to the Democrat’s neo Brown Shirts. Emery probably sends them money.

  6. Dream on, hoss. You still think there is law and order in this country? Ha!

  7. We can’t have capital punishment because we might convict an innocent person.

    Uh…………..

Maybe convicting an innocent person is something we should avoid even without capital punishment. (Pssst, a good start would be to ban the testimony of jailhouse snitches).

Beyond that, the argument merely demands that the bar be set higher for capital punishment cases. Video tapes and DNA have come a long way.

  8. My take on this is the same as always; the existence of corrupt prosecutors like Kamala Harris is not reason to get rid of punishments. It is reason to revoke immunity for corrupt prosecutors and (e.g. Kevin Clinesmith) and investigators. The only penalty that can really be reversed is a fine, after all, and even then, the victim needs to suffer not having his resources for the duration of the trials needed to get a wrongful conviction reversed.
