  1. Another re-run?

I think if you are going to be so immodest as to claim to be the media’s sole guardians of sanity, you should at least be providing something new and topical.

  2. “I think if you are going to be so immodest as to claim to be the media’s sole guardians of sanity, you should at least be providing something new and topical.”
Matthew, Mark, Luke and John repeat the same story.
Think about that, that’s all I’m saying.

  3. Hey, look at that! The post changed. Change we can believe in! The beginning of a new day! It’s not gonna be business as usual at SitD. It’s the most transparent bog Evah!

  4. The same story from different points of view! The similarities are astounding . . . almost uncanny.

  5. Not uncanny. The first three Gospels, Matthew, Mark and Luke are called the Synoptic Gospels http://www.answers.com/topic/synoptic-gospels.
“Matthew and Luke each have about 100 verses in common, most of them sayings (notably the Beatitudes); to explain this agreement, scholars assume that there was a primitive document, which they call Q.”
John is quite different from the first three, and I think that’s a good thing, because it really focuses on the divine nature of salvation, ergo “For God so loved the world that He gave his only son” John 3:16. It’s not just a placard at football games.

  6. ” . . . to explain this agreement, scholars assume that there was a primitive document, which they call Q”
I’ve heard this before; and I expect that if we were meant to have access to Q, we would have had it. One of the defining differences between Christianity & Islam is that Christianity’s founding documents have human authors. As a Lutheran I was taught that this is so because Christ himself was the living Word. We have a record of the Word on paper, not the Word itself.
Jesus is honored as a prophet by the Muslims. Mohammad is not similarly honored by Christians; in fact Mohammad must be considered a false prophet by orthodox Christians. I wonder if this topic ever comes up at the conferences where Christian and Muslim leaders try to align themselves to achieve the same goals?

  7. Stoo don’t need no stinkin’ bible, Kerm. He’s self contained morality unit….the big red “A” on his blog doesn’t mean what you think it does.

  8. So, Mitch, what happened to the show you used to promote, your good friends David Strom and his wife Margaret? Your ‘old friend Jeff Schell’ is apparently now in their former time slot, and they don’t appear to have a different time slot on the Patriot or on any of the other Salem network stations….

  9. Terry wrote: “Matthew, Mark, Luke and John repeat the same story.”

Terry, as very highly as I regard Mitch, and as fond of him as I am, I do have a problem equating him with not one but three of Christ’s disciples, LOL.

He’s much more fun as one of us mere mortals.

  10. Well Dog, I have to say that the titular authors of the Gospels are most certainly not the actual authors, since those apostles predeceased said authorship. By at least seventy years. That does not in any way negate the content of the manuscripts, in fact it lends them some degree of clemency, since the narative was preserved with much integrity.
As far as I know, there has not been a “Gospel of Mitch” discovered. Not even at Nag Hammadi.

Swiftee, Stoo may yet gain grace. That is in God’s hands. I approve.

  11. DG:

    Two things:

So, Mitch, what happened to the show you used to promote, your good friends David Strom and his wife Margaret?

They have other plans. You’ll likely be hearing about them before too long. I can’t go into it on the blog – but I will say that it has nothing whatsoever to do with what you’re assuming. Zip.

Second: So I see you’ve given up trying to disprove that the NARN is the sole voice of media sanity? Wise move.
