End Traffic Violence!

Nobody needs more than one car. Nobody needs to drive a car more than once a month. There should be psychological profiles and strict background checks for all vehicle transfers, including loans to friends and rent a cars. A 6 gallon gas tank limit is plenty.

No wonder the Democrats and media are pushing the “impeachment effort” so hard; Warren is insane, and she’s the sanest of the bunch (among those who have a snowball’s chance in hell of getting nominated – sorry, A-Klo and whoever that flavor of the month from Hawaii was…).

  1. Kind of related; Apparently, Senator Fluff got an appearance with the shrieking anti-Trump harpies of day time TV.

On a more humorous note; her campaign staff is unionizing via the teamsters. Her campaign leader was quoted as remarking that the senator was a strong supporter of unions, because she has union family members. Of course, there was no pushback on this dweeb as to why, if she supports unions, does she continually crap on the ones on the range via her environazi benefactors.

  2. Of the Fortune 500 companies that I worked for who didn’t have union problems, most often it was because they exceeded union compensation packages – i.e. if union pay for your job was $20-$22/hr they paid $24 with a 401k match on the first 10%. Most people do not like having to report to 2 people; their direct manager and the shop steward, they’d rather just deal with their manager.
The most typical case where unions take root is when there’s a combination of low pay AND excessive demands on their time. Makes you wonder what kind of sweatshop Warren’s campaign is running.

  3. Get ready for Michael Bloomberg. We are seeing his ads down here along the Iowa border and he is aiming squarely at the disaffected Democrats and wavering Republicans.

On the issue of guns, he will not lose many votes. Most of those who are solidly behind the Second Amendment are life-long Republicans or left the Democratic Party years ago.

His message is jobs, trade and tariffs – and aimed squarely at the Trump base. He will peel off Trump votes.

He has the press on his side, the suburban soccer moms and Democratic loyalists, the question is: can he get the left to show up to vote?

That’s an easy question to answer with another question: who does the left hate more Trump or Bloomberg? I think we all know the answer to that.

The election will come down to this: A globalist billionaire Bloomberg with an message of prosperity and a calm demeanor will be pitted against an America First billionaire with an abrasive Twitter habit.

Style will triumph over substance in the swing districts.

IMHO, Bloomberg will win the left, the suburbs and the centrists. Not because of his policies but because the suburbs and centrists want peace. They are tired of the culture wars, tired of the hate in the press, tired of division – and they will bow to the center left.

And the far left will get what it really wants with Bloomberg: Corporate leftism, globalism, gun-control, open borders and PC served with a side of sliced peaches.

  4. In the 1981 movie, The Last Chase, cars are outlawed. Or at least gas cars. Lee Majors is a former racecar driver that had hidden a Porsche and tries to drive from the east coast to “Free California”. It is set in 2011, and the US has become a police state.

Now, I’m sure that initially, this was a way to capitalize on the Cannonball Run type cross country race movie. But, it is also an insight into the way many used to think – Big Govt is bad, Don’t Tread on Me, and Move West Young Man.

Interesting if true. These people will then indeed get what they want, good and hard.

  6. Probably a pipe dream, but with so many candidates the chance of a break off third party run or a write in campaign is not out of the question.

  7. Wow. Fauxcohontas is more and more demonstrating the she was an Affirmative Action Hire at Hahvid. You’re going to stop unintentional actions? Good luck–even granting the fact that about half of traffic accidents are really not accidental, but are rather “the foreseeable results of foolish actions” like driving drunk and sleepy.

  8. Another thought is that you theoretically could greatly reduce accidents by putting everybody in a self-driving electric golf cart controlled by the government, or in a vomit-encrusted government bus or train. Perhaps that is the end game?

  9. Bloomberg wont survive the primary because Bernie and the Bernie Bros will destroy him. The base is too far left to accept Bloomberg. Only way he gets the nomination is if no one has enough delegates to win on the 1st ballot at the DNC next summer. If her’s the compromise candidate the centrists might vote for him but the leftists will stay home.

  10. I think Bloomberg’s candidacy dies as people remind the public of the kind of nanny state laws the guy has supported–limits on the size of soft drink you can buy, whether you can get Styrofoam cups, really everything from alcohol to trans fats. Combine that with his support for gun control and abortion, not to mention Communist China….oh….my….goodness.

    Those are features, not bugs.

I have not smoked in thirty years – but I always thought the greatest travesty for conservatives was the way they laid down and let the Nanny Staters walk all over them on the smoking in bars thing.

    Bloomberg channels that vibe.

I am not saying that I support Bloomy, heaven forbid, or that I think he is right about anything – but I do feel he might hit a sweet spot with voters who cluster in the center and are put off by Trump’s style.

  12. the greatest travesty for conservatives was the way they laid down and let the Nanny Staters walk all over them on the smoking in bars thing.

Man, do I agree with this.

  13. Man, do I agree with this.

My wife would refuse to go into any bar or restaurant that allowed smoking. So I had to go alone. 🙂

But wait a minute! Wouldn’t that imply there is a market for bars and restaurants who ban smoking? Before the law, I never saw such a thing. Maybe there was, but I never heard of it.

Soooooo, when you think about it, the Republican libertarian smaller government types totally caved to the moral panic of Nanny-state second-hand smoke fear-mongering.

    Kinda explains Trump.

  14. … and I agree for the exact same reasons too 😉

(sotto voce) I think you underestimate the dislike for Michael B among many.

  15. I totally agree with you, jdm – but Trump was hated too, then there is this:

    “He’s a CAPITALIST!”

    Four more years of Trump

    “But he’s a WHITE MALE!”

    Four more years of Trump

“But, but, but, he’s not one of US!”

    Four more years of Trump

“He’s the worst person in the world!”

    Four more years of Trump

“Well, maybe he’s the second worst person in the world.”

  16. “They are tired of the culture wars, tired of the hate in the press, tired of division..”

And the best way they can figure to get peace is to disarm the public. You’re talking about brain dead leftist reprobates, Greg.

BTW. It is still legal to smoke in bars in S.C. it’s the owners choice.

Most are no smoke, but in many smaller towns there is at least one smoking joint.
