The Democrat Conundrum

How do you lecture the rest of the country about “racism” when one of the people in charge of your foreign policy is a corrosive racist who exudes antisemitism more often than Gerald Ford stumbled?

When you’re today’s Democrats, that’s a bit of a problem. House Dems put together a resolution saying “No Anti-Semites Here, Nossirreebob”:

The resolution, which began circulating to members Monday night, comes after a backlash from top Democrats who accused [Minneapolis representative Ilhan] Omar of anti-Semitism for referring to pro-Israel advocates’ “allegiance to a foreign country.”

Omar, not being the brightest crayon in the package, is doubling down:

[Congresswoman Nita] Lowey condemned Omar’s use of “offensive, painful stereotypes,” leading to a fight on Twitter as Omar dug in on her comments and was cheered by some on the left.
“Our democracy is built on debate, Congresswoman!” Omar wrote, later adding, “I have not mischaracterized our relationship with Israel, I have questioned it and that has been clear from my end.”

She’s “just asking questions” about all them Jiiiews.

Where have we heard that?

Good job, Minneapolis. We’re proud of you.

  1. When NATO countries decided funding their social welfare programs were more important than having a military.

  2. “So, it’s a just a few Americans that need to die? That’s an argument? You gonna explain that to the families?”

So, it’s okay that Christians, most related to the time of Christ on earth, lived in some area of the world for 2,000 years and Uncle Sam steps in, things go awry because of many different actors and then, we say tough luck, I’m leaving. That’s what Obama did.

Every troop there volunteered for that duty. No one is there against their will, if they don’t like it, maybe they can get out. You tell that to those families. They volunteered, a lot of them have a camaraderie with the Kurd-dominated SDF. Maybe you don’t speak for them.

BTW, we are leaving only 400 troops there and for the record, it’s been decided we are leaving troops at al Tanf some time ago in Syria, just to watch Iran. The expressed withdrawal never included them. I’m not agreeing with that or not. Just saying that those troops would remain despite any kind of withdrawal.

https://www.almasdarnews.com/article/not-so-fast-us-troops-remain-in-al-tanf-despite-trumps-withdrawal-announcement/ So, all along, we were planning on having some stay there. I’m not even sure if I agree Iran is a threat, that it is our business. Just relaying the news.

  3. “Strawman MYB, we can send arms and airstrikes without boots on the ground, but saying we have a moral imperitive to go in means we get stuck there for a generation, at least.” – Prince of Darkness

That’s the plan but there is not a reason to leave prematurely either. As said earlier and in fact Michael Medved said it on his show that there are no soldiers there that did not volunteer for that.

It’s a good argument we should not have gone in 2003. This is now. Obama’s foreign policy created a mess. Refugees and so on.

So speaking of Medved, we can still get him on the air.

  4. Micheal Medved entered irrelency when he joined the #NeverTrump crowd and was sealed when his show was bumped for the new Sebastian Gorka “America First” show back on New Years days. The fact that you cite, and actually still want to listen to the Never Trump Medved. He is old guard.

  5. I bet you like Bill Kristol and dont understand when The National Review went bankrupt either MYB.

Truth is truth, if those soldiers volunteered to be there, then, I don’t think you are apt to make decisions for them.; Maybe your argument then is to weak, so you are saying Medved is lying? You attack the messenger, not the message.. At least, debunk it.

Medved was with Salem for 24 years and guess what? Sebastian Gorka even quoted Medved the other day, saying paraphrasing, “Michael Medved said that of white people in America, 5% or less had ancestors that owned slaves”, in speaking about reparations., So your arguments are really batting zero now.

So let’s get this straight, Medved entered “irrelacy” because of Gorka but Gorka quotes him. Well, I’m certainly not going to defeat a master debater.

I’ll bet you don’t know anything about me, and btw, if you are a Trump supporter, Trump elected to stay in Syria, it’s pretty clear.

BTW, to everyone, have you noticed, one of the Generals in charge over there? General Votel? He’s from St. Paul.

  7. So, no answer on those measurable goals and agreements and how to know if those agreements are being abided by. Jump straight to rhetoric:

So, it’s okay that Christians, most related to the time of Christ on earth…

Short and to the point, I don’t care. I can’t care about everyone in the world or everything that’s unfair and just not right but I can care about my own countrymen, those who are growing up in my state, my town, my neighborhood who might be sent off to die to make you feel better about yourself.

That they volunteered means that we should treat their service and possible demise with the highest respect and honor. Defending the country is fine; defending and possibly dying for ill-defined (or no) foreign policy goals and feel-good-ism is insane.

  8. “Bill Kristol and the National Review went under”, this has got to be comedy gold but I don’t demean anyone. Psst, the Weekly Standard, not NR.

I’ve heard “neo-con” passed around, I’m not even positive that Seb Gorka was totally for a withdrawal from Syria, I’m trying to find references but as of now, we are definitely staying for a spell.

Here is Seb backing up Trump’s decision to launch missiles at Assad, so be careful if one is calling others neo-cons.

I cited Medved as a source, in the last 2 or 3 weeks, Seb cited Medved as a source. So, believe it or not. I’m not going to argue on about this.

  9. Looks as if Mitch is busy this week. Let me take the other side of this argument, just to see where it goes.

The United States is a representative republic.
The voters of my district elected me to represent them.
They knew I was a Somali refugee, a Muslim, married my brother to commit immigration fraud and student loan fraud, and that I hate Jews and want them to die – and voted for me anyway. Its similar to voters who knew Donald Trump was a p***y-grabbing philandering blow-hard and voted for him anyway.
The voters are entitled to pick whomever they want to represent them.
The other members of Congress have no right to interfere with my voters’ decision. Censuring me, or refusing to seat me, or expelling me, has the effect of disenfranchising my voters.
There is historical precedent for haters in Congress, starting with Hakim X who held this seat before me, through Robert Byrd the KKK member and back to nearly ever Democrat voting against the 13th Amendment to free the slaves.

So she openly hates Jews and wants them to die – so what?
