  1. I don’t believe her because the completely impartial legal partner of the DFL Party Attorney conducted a completely unbiased investigation that reached the best outcome for The Party in political terms.

Personally, I think that there’s room for reasonable doubt as long as Monahan doesn’t show the video to anyone. That doesn’t keep the “Believe All Women” crowd from being hypocritical.

  2. What Smithy says. The allegations seem to be consistent with Ellison’s character, but as long as the accuser is talking about evidence she’s not willing to present to investigators, that weakens the import of her testimony. Hence it falls, in my view, with a huge portion of allegations; in the category of “not enough evidence to arrest”. It’s far better evidence than the allegations against Kavanaugh, where I’d appraise the evidence as “flimsy to perjurious”, but still…..you wanna get action taken, you’ve got to play by the rules of the game. You don’t refer to evidence that you’re not going to provide if you want investigators to take you seriously.

  3. Still waiting for the so-called video to drop. It’s time to put up or times up.

  4. MBerg: When you mention Karen Monahan’s accusation, please describe it. Monahan claims Ellison was physical with her exactly once: The morning after Ellison broke up with her, he told her to move out of his house while trying unsuccessfully to pull her out of bed by her feet. She stayed in bed at that time, and stayed in his house for another two months.

  5. If you’re a guy in a relationship, “exactly once” is enough to get you put in jail, if things break the wrong direction.

I’ve always maintained that there are so many reasons to not vote for Ellison, the Monahan thing doesn’t matter.

But the double standard is, as always, illuminating. The way the DFL has lined up to trash Monahan should tell you everything you need to know about the state of “feminism” in the DFL.

Maybe if she got Christine Blasey Ford to vouch for her? Ford must be believed, right?
I tell ya’, Ellison is shady guy. I used to know a few guys like him when I lived in South Minneapolis in the late 70s-early 80s. Always got a hustle on. Ellison had tax problems and problems paying his traffic tickets. Surely the great state of Minnesota can do better than making a tax cheat, a scofflaw & a woman beater its AG. Minnesota ain’t Illinois — yet.
Say, is the accuser the same woman who took the fall for Ellison’s failure to pay taxes and his traffic tickets? Stinks to high heaven, don’t it?

  7. The Nation of Islam deal was Ellisons first internship of the scam business. He learned the oratory skills of the righteously outraged Negro from Louis Farrakhan.

He learned the business model, and the smoove talk of the successful poverty pimp from Jesse Jackson.

Hakim’s son is now in the family business.

  8. I read the Ellison report by the DFL lawyer. As an artifact or whatever, it says what its possible to say about the allegations such that Monahan wont provide her video. This lawyer did a professional job putting it together, even if she is on the DFL teat in general.

I agree with Merg, his relationship with Monahan is the least of reasons one doesn’t vote for Ellison.
