Customer Satisfaction

Democrats’ confidence in the mass media rises dramatically in the past year.

Democrats’ trust and confidence in the mass media to report the news “fully, accurately and fairly” has jumped from 51% in 2016 to 72% this year — fueling a rise in Americans’ overall confidence to 41%. Independents’ trust has risen modestly to 37%, while Republicans’ trust is unchanged at 14%.

They paid for it.  They’d better like it.

  1. Does the GOP like how Fox reports, Fox certainly is far closer to hewing to the GOP line than any of CNN, CBS, NBC, or ABC, all of which are owned by large MNC’s.

Does the GOP like how nearly every local newspaper reports the news? How about how nearly every local radio station reports the news?

The paid for it, They’d better like it.

There was a report recently released which talked about the number of words reported on major media (TV) in the 2016 about hot-button issues. Trump on economy, Trump on Russia, Clinton on Economy, Trump on woman’s issues, ALL paled next to the number of words on Clinton Email Server stories. The others didn’t even come up to, in total, the number on the Email story.

  3. “Fox certainly is far closer to hewing to the GOP line than any of CNN, CBS, NBC, or ABC, all of which are owned by large MNC’s.”

Well, no – Fox is actually less in line with the GOP than CNN, the Big Three, PBS/NPR and the Times/WaPo are with the Democrats. There’ve been actual studies by actual journalism schoolsl that support that thesis.

“Does the GOP like how nearly every local newspaper reports the news?”

Probably not, as the percentage of reporters who identify as “Republicans” (to say nothing of conservatives) is in single digits, and most of those who call themselves “Moderates” vote reliably Democrat.

“How about how nearly every local radio station reports the news?”

You find me a radio station with a news department anymore – in the Cities, it’s MPR and WCCO – they’re reliably left of center.

  4. Peev thinks large multinational corp’s are “conservative” opponents of the state?
They are indistinguishable from the state. You want to weaken the power of large corporations, weaken the power of the state.
What a blessing the CFPB is to large, multinational banks!
