The Last You’ll Hear Of This Story

SCENE:  Mitch BERG is waiting to speak to a manager at O’Gara’s about some entertainment business.

Avery LIBRELLE walks into the bar, holding a tin cup, seeking donations for Carlton students with “Triggering Fatigue”.  LIBRELLE notices BERG.

LIBRELLE:  MERG!

BERG:  Oh, hey, Avery. How ya doing?

LIBRELLE:  Fascists are launching that wave of violence.

BERG:  Actually, it’s “Anti”-Fa’s blackshirts that are actually doing the violence.

LIBRELLE:  Har di har!

BERG:  Remember that episode last March, where a permitted group of Trump supporters were…

LIBRELLE:  …where they encountered a group of anti-Fascists who were just minding their own business, and the blame was on both sides.

BERG:  That’s your story, and you’re sticking with it?

LIBRELLE:  Of course.  It’s settled science.  Neil DeGrasse Tyson says so.

BERG:   Yeah, not so much.  One of the snowflakes involved in the attack took the deal.    And as part of the deal, he had to admit on the record what happened.  Here, let me read fro this bit from Alphanews:

Sagermerek, who initially pled not guilty during his first court appearance, told the court he “maced someone” and had intentions of disturbing the peace when affirming he would plead not guilty.

However, when Taheri and Sagermerek went over the events of the March 4 Trump rally, Sagermerek contradicted himself by stating that he intended to counter-protest peacefully, though he later admitted to carrying mace in his pockets.

Describing Trump supporters as protesters and the alt-right, Sagermereck told the court he was covered head-to-toe in black, wearing a studded jacket and bandana over his face, that he arrived with several other people.

Acknowledging Trump supporters had built a wall to keep counter-protesters away from their event, Sagermereck told the court that is when he grabbed the canister of mace and “sprayed it at one of the Trump supporters.” He announced the attack to be one that was “unprovoked and not in defense.”

Seven other counter-protesters have been charged and are currently awaiting trial.

LIBRELLE:  Ah.  So the Trump supporters tried to keep the counter-protesters…

BERG:  …in their bandanas and blackshirt-wear…

LIBRELLE:  …away from their demonstration?   Well, there you go.  Hate crime.

BERG:  Of course it is.

But LIBRELLE has already walked to the other bar to try to order a gluten-free diet Pepsi.

And SCENE.

  1. Somehow it’s appropriate that Antifa protesters are basically wearing the same thing that some Raiders fans wear to football games, especially considering that Oakland is next door to Beserkeley. It was already in their closets, ready for use.

(nope, not a Broncos or Steelers fan, just observant, and no insult intended to law-abiding Raiders fans who wear spiked jackets to games)

  2. In line with the post about DAP, it would be interesting to see those assaulted go after these folks and their backers in civil court.

  3. The scumbag that was hitting people in the head with a bike lock in Berzerkely is squirting tears online and rattling a tin cup. SJW’s think it’s all fun and games until they’re looking at 5-10 years locked up with the po folk they claim to represent.

  4. Many of these antifa’s come from the middle class and upper middle class.
Hit them with a felony conviction. Any meaningful career hopes they have had will vanish.
Teach them not to f*ck with American workers.

  5. MP, well said, and you don’t even need to put them in for 5-10 years. The simple conviction sentences them to a life of “working for people who don’t care what the background check says.”

That said, to do it, you’ve got to (a) convince officers to use their body cameras and (b) immediately engage with violent protesters to arrest them–not using body shields and bicycles to hold a line, but taking them down and cuffing them right then & there. Then you’ve got to persuade prosecutors to press charges consistently instead of negotiating them away.

Big ifs, and I would guess the left will start changing “Chicago 1968” if they try. The big lever for changing things is simply the federal law that states that it’s a felony to stand by and watch demonstrators get physically attacked.

In other words, persuade cops and prosecutors reporting to major-metro, inevitably “progressive” pols to impart consequences on the idiot children of those same pols and those of their social circle.

  7. Federal RICO investigations and federal civil rights investigations.
Having a felony on your record keeps you from having anything to do with spending federal (and most state) dollars. Goodbye, career working at NPR and APM! Goodbye, working for legal aid! Goodbye, grants from NEA, NEH!

  8. In other words, persuade cops and prosecutors reporting to major-metro, inevitably “progressive” pols to impart consequences on the idiot children of those same pols and those of their social circle.

Yep. Those pols don’t mind their kids using a bike lock as a truncheon at all, as long as they hit the right people.

  9. One of the marchers lost his job at a hot dog shop because his image was tagged and his employer pressured. He was bare-faced, of course, unlike the anti-fascist rioters, so they could film him.

Could the Right convince local politicians to pass an ordinance banning protestors from wearing masks so the cops could easily arrest them and the Right could film their faces to post on social media? Facebook has amazing facial recognition software – perhaps it could be used to identify anti-fascists so the Right could run Google searches and show at their mothers’ houses to march with signs saying “A Communist Lives Here,” or show up at their Dad’s workplace demanding to know why the employer is colluding with the Russians to destroy America by employing a family member of a Soviet provocateur.

It doesn’t have to be true. It has to be effective. Punch a Commie. That’s the new rule promulgated by the Left. Sauce for the goose . . .
