Go Figure

We were warned.

Oh, you betcha we  were!

The media’s chicken littles parroted the narrative they so, so desperately wish, hope, pray is true; that the average, law-abiding American citizen, left to his own devices and all of his human rights, is a fundamentally depraved actor, motivated by rage and hate, looking for an excuse to stick it to someone.

At worst, it’s the ultimate manifestation of Berg’s Seventh Law; the left is transferring their own manifest rage onto their enemies.

At best?  They’re wishing they had a lot more company among the ranks of America’s depraved.

And it’s just not happening.  The media warned us that open civilian carry, legal in Ohio, would end up in a bloodbath.

Of course it didn’t happen.

The New York Times ominously reported: “However, given the recent tumult around the country, some leaders are anxious that the environment could turn dangerous. Members of one group made up of current and former members of the military called the Oath Keepers, who have shown up at other tense events heavily armed, say they again plan to carry weapons into Cleveland.”
NPR forewarned: “With tens of thousands of protesters expected in Cleveland, those gun laws could mean confrontations between pistol-packing delegates and protesters.”

And Vanity Fair cautioned about a security nightmare: “In the wake of a deadly sniper attack during a protest last week in Dallas, where open-carry laws reportedly made it difficult for police to tell the difference between potential suspects and marchers carrying legal firearms, there are rising concerns that similar open-carry laws in Ohio risk turning the Republican National Convention into a security nightmare.”

The total number of shootings?

Zero.

Nothing.

Bupkes.

As usual.

  1. What a load of bullshit AGAIN.
The Cleveland PD wanted to suspend open carry (and wanted to do the same with concealed carry) because they were concerned that crackpot groups like the KKK and the Westboro church — both associated with the right wing nuts — posed a danger.

There was no comparable group of people going armed on the left, so the left was not a concern.

You know what prevented any incidents? NOT that your side is somehow safe, it was the $60 million + in security that they put on for the convention to prevent that from happening.

The fallacy of good guys with guns was underlined just this weekend with the shooting in Florida, where armed guards were present. No civilian with a gun did a damn thing. Bupkis. Zero. Nothing. As usual.

It probably didn’t hurt that so many conservatives took the opportunity not to enter the public square of politics, but to hook up with gay escorts (per Craigslist) and to enjoy porn, especially gay porn, per Porn Hub.

But hey, do try to spin your gun hugging. No one seriously believes it, other than you lot of deluded fools. Even most gun owners are becoming stronger gun regulation supporters. As are the overwhelming majority of law enforcement.

  2. Guns galore and no violence (other than rhetorical) at the RNC, despite no limitations on civil rights. At the DNC, though, they build an 8-mile long fence around the event, and put up a fence between the stage and the delegates. I’ll bet the delegates/voters are scrupulously screened, including photo IDs.

I wonder what the DNC organizers know.

  3. One would have figured that the Democrats would have at least gotten some Gangster Disciples on the bus from Chicago to make things interesting.

(huge tragedies there, and count me impressed at how many lives Chicago hospitals are saving!)

  4. DG,

You need to stop calling “bullshit” until you stop spewing it yourself.

The Cleveland PD wanted to suspend open carry

WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG! It was the head of Cleveland’s police union!

Do you EVER actually know what you’re talking about?

KKK and the Westboro church — both associated with the right wing nuts — posed a danger

And you – and the idiot union boss – thought that telling law-abiding people not to carry would have any effect on criminal activity?

You know what prevented any incidents? NOT that your side is somehow safe,

This is your opinion, and thus safely ignored.

The fallacy of good guys with guns was underlined …with the shooting in Florida, where armed guards were present. No civilian with a gun did a damn thing. Bupkis. Zero. Nothing. As usual.

Strawman, again. Nobody said bad things would stop happening.

But mass shootings happen disproportionally were good guys are disarmed. And I’ve documented 15 cases where civilians with guns stopped mass shootings.

    You keep ignoring that.

    Why?

It probably didn’t hurt that so many conservatives took the opportunity …to hook up with gay escorts (per Craigslist) and to enjoy porn, especially gay porn, per Porn Hub

So what is the fascination you people have with Republican sex habits? That’s so ungodly creepy. This is today’s left.

Anyway, DG – you need to get back to discussing – even acknowledging seeing some of the responses to your comments – or I’m going to go back to whiting you out.

Either that or email me and discuss your habits. You have my address.

  5. So, DG – to the extent that you presented, ahem, “FACTS”, those facts have been debunked. Union boss, not police chief, much less the CPD.

Every single other word in your little screed was either your prejudice/bigotry/fear speaking, or the sort of post-adolescent character-smearing that is the modern left’s sole actual product.

    Your response?

Any response? Even just a quick “Hey, I saw that..?”

Because if you’re going back to “dump and run”, I’ll go back to whiting you out again.

  6. What NW said. Funny how left is willing to build a fence and a demilitarized zone when it concerns their personal safety – FROM THEIR OWN!

  7. One more thing, DG – on the off chance you actually see any of this.

You’ve complained about my whiting out your posts to get your to pay attention to my policy against metablogging.

I’m told by others who’ve tried to participate at Penigma and over at Pusey’s Looney Bin that you, or someone, routinely bans/blocks commenters when they disagree too long and hard.

    True or false?

    Please answer. Thanks.

  8. It probably didn’t hurt that so many conservatives took the opportunity not to enter the public square of politics, but to hook up with gay escorts (per Craigslist) and to enjoy porn, especially gay porn, per Porn Hub.

You mean the same Craigslist that the DNC emails show was used to plant false flags about the Trumpster’s hiring practices? That same Craigslist that the Democrats love so much to manipulate?

Honestly, Doggie Dearist, you’re pretty dense to be ignoring how the Democrats love to whore out Craigslist for their own petty uses, from using it to hire protesters to support the $15 minimum wage at the current $7 minimum wage, to using it to try and embarrass opponents. You could say it’s just that the GOP doesn’t do online dirty tricks as well as the Democrats, but I’m not sure that’s a complement to the Democrats.

  9. So, the Dems believe that US is under a barrage of attacks by right wing terrorist groups.
And they do not mention terrorism in any one of the many speeches given on the opening day of their national convention, where they will nominate their candidate for president.
    Huh.
    This is really mysterious.

  10. Are DG’s meme-generating message managers trotting out the post-RNC gay-sex and porn theme again? Hasn’t their, um, tittering, about this been SOP going back a few presidential campaigns at least? Not that there’s anything wrong with that, of course.

  11. You know what prevented any incidents? NOT that your side is somehow safe, it was the $60 million + in security that they put on for the convention to prevent that from happening.

OK, you foaming, hate filled slag. Give us an instance, just one, where any of that $60 million had to be deployed to subdue anyone; KKK, Westboro, the Hakim X Ellison Jihad Brigade, anyone, that was causing an armed disturbance.

You can’t, because there were no such incidents. You are just opening your empty skull and letting the deranged hate pour out, AGAIN.

The fallacy of good guys with guns was underlined just this weekend with the shooting in Florida, where armed guards were present. No civilian with a gun did a damn thing. Bupkis. Zero. Nothing. As usual.

There was one armed guard, you hate filled slag, one. He was an off duty copper, and he engaged the murderous Muzzy Democrat with his hand gun. If the homos inside hadn’t been so distracted with their leg grinding, they might have heard the exchange and rushed the exits. There were no civilians present. Zero. None. The facts kicked you in your fat ass. As usual.

It probably didn’t hurt that so many conservatives took the opportunity not to enter the public square of politics, but to hook up with gay escorts (per Craigslist) and to enjoy porn, especially gay porn, per Porn Hub.

What are you doing trolling Craigslist gay escort ads and Porn Hub, you hate filled slag? Did you wear out that German Shepard already?

  12. It probably didn’t hurt that so many conservatives took the opportunity not to enter the public square of politics, but to hook up with gay escorts (per Craigslist) and to enjoy porn, especially gay porn, per Porn Hub.

I’d thought that the Democrats were the party of “this sort of thing is OK”. Did I miss something here? I googled it, and they suggested a 700% increase in “Trump porn”, which I’d suppose is something of a niche market, and more generally a 4.2% increase in porn viewership generally…

Regarding the more sane statistic, if we assume 50,000 people coming to a city of 390,000, of which perhaps 300,000 are adults, a random distribution of porn usage would suggest a 17% increase in porn usage, not 4.2%, and that not even correcting for the fact that many delegates and attendees are away from their families and bored.

And the “gay escorts” claim? Well, the New York Post article–written by a journalist who somehow has a number of them on speed dial, apparently–interviewed about four or five of them (his favorites?) and they’d apparently done business with about 30-50 johns who “may” have been there for RNC.

In other words, congratulations, DogGone, for proving beyond a reasonable doubt that Republicans are less libidinous than average. And congratulations on outing yourself as a reader of Porn Hub, apparently.

  13. Such is the density of DG’s intellectual incoherence – at least in my comment section – that it’s hard to get all of it in just a few passes.

    Here’s a fun one:

LAST WEEK: “The Blaze is a crummy source!” (regardless of facts presented)

THIS WEEK: “PornHub is an unimpeachable source” (with no data presented).

You seem to have figured out, DG, that none of us takes your comments all that terribly seriously. You seem to also think it’s because you’re so much smarter than us that none of us can keep up with you.

    Ma’am, that’s not it.

  14. crackpot groups like the KKK and the Westboro church — both associated with the right wing nuts

The KKK originates with the Democrats. Lest you bring up David Duke, who’s stints as a Republican candidate for office, interchanged with his stints as a Democratic candidate for office, resulted in him narrowly winning office one time, I’ll bring up a much more successful former Grand Kleagle of the KKK, by the name of Sen. Robert Byrd.

The Westboro Baptist Church has, from Day One, been denounced by prominent folks on the right. The “Church” first came to prominence when they started protesting soldier’s funerals, proclaiming it was God’s punishment because America tolerated homosexuality. Your assignment: Find one actual conservative who praises the Westboro Baptist Church.

  15. Oh, yeah – one more:

You know what prevented any incidents? NOT that your side is somehow safe, it was the $60 million + in security that they put on for the convention to prevent that from happening.

The security money was there to protect conventiongoers against all manner of violence – left, right, and parties who are part of no American political framework.

Again, DG – you never seem to get anything right. Your narrative seems to be entirely driven by…bigotry? Prejudice? Hate?

    I really don’t get it.

  16. < 2500 GOP delegates.
Tens of thousands of media types and protesters.
Some porn site says it sees it sees a spike during the convention?
Lefty logic says It's the delegates.
    Correlation does not equal causation.

  17. Now I see why AGW is such a thing for Democrats. They seem to believe whatever they’re told.

  19. My, my, my… Tsk, Tsk, Tsk. What do they say about them stones and glass houses?

Gay hook up smartphone apps Tinder and Grindr are reporting a massive spike in usage in the Philadelphia area as the Democrats gather for their national nominating convention.

According to analysis by the gay hook-up app company Grindr, usage has climbed 148 percent in Philly thus far during this DNC Convention week with most of the increase emanating from the area around the Wells Fargo Center where the convention is being held.

Further, 57 percent of those logging onto the service were not users from the city but are users from elsewhere. This leads app administrators to conclude the users are from out of town and are in the city for the convention.

  20. Link for JPA: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3712891/inder-Grindr-massive-spike-activity-Philadelphia-DNC.html

But to be fair, most of the visitors are in the press. Now while the press is reliably liberal, that still doesn’t necessarily implicate the delegates.

We would, however, get a hint about how the media are going to have trouble covering issues regarding sexual morality fairly, as at least a sizeable minority of their ranks seem to be libertines in this regard. It would explain part of why a bunch of fraudulent “studies” claiming abstinence education didn’t work, including at least one I saw that didn’t even have a control, were never flagged.
