From The Top

Caught on Twitter a little while ago, Minneapolis Police chief Harteau said:

@ChiefHarteau: @CrimeWatchNE @MSP my officers and the community see too much gun violence and little if any is due to self-defense.

Not sure when Chief Harteau got so bloodthirsty.  Self-defense only rarely ends with someone dead.

In theory, you’d think someone with 28 years in uniform would know that.

  1. Y’all need to take down all those Confederate flags in North. Everything be fixed in a jiffy.

  2. Minneapolis has “shot detector” microphones planted around the city so they know which neighborhoods have the most gunfire and can allocate police resources most effectively. Here’s the latest one.

Now why would so many shots be fired in North Minneapolis?

And an article pointing out that 450 of the 700 guns illegally carried on the street were taken from people in that neighborhood, yet the community relations between cops and citizens remain tense.

No answers here, just glad I don’t have her job.

  3. I’m thinking Harteau ought to take a carry permit class and learn a little about self-defense.

I’ve got to admit, though, that it is nice when periodically a thug assumes room temperature.
