Hard to believe it was fifteen years ago last Saturday that Kids in Philly by Marah was released.
Here they are on the old Conan show:
They’re still out there, and still putting out enough great stuff that it’s a shock it’s been so long.

I used to listen to Float Away with the Friday Night Gods regularly back in college. Been meaning to put in on my phone for awhile now, actually. Thanks for the reminder.
I thought I was the only person I knew that knew them about them, much less liked them. Most people I play the album for aren’t big fans. I think it’s the lead voice. Most people can’t get past it.
Serge is not a great singer. That’s why I can relate to him, I think.

Heh. We’re probably two of very few people west of Pittsburgh who’ve heard of them.
I have a few of those. I’m one of about five people from west of Cleveland who’s ever heard of the Iron City Houserockers.
And back in college, Mary Louise Pivec’s husband Jay (who’s also Katie McCollow’s brother in law, and the longtime hoops coach at HenTech, and when we met the time coach at Jamestown College) and I were the only two Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes fans west of Toledo.
