Because “World Stone The Adultresses Day” Didn’t Catch On

Western women are invited to celebrate “World Hijab Day”.

Don’t get me wrong – religious freedom is for everyone. I’ll fight as hard to defend Muslim womens’ right to cover themselves up as I will to defend Presbyterians rights not to.

But like a lot of Western Christian conservatives, I’m slightly amused by Western feminists unwillingness to tackle a fairly significant, not to mention real, “war on women”.

  1. The liklihood of a woman wanting to hide herself under hijab is inversly proportional to her rating on the traditional 1-10 scale of hotness. God desires a beautiful world so society must force bag-heads to cover themselves and, by removing their plainness from sight, thereby beautify the world.

Okay, it’s nonsense, but at least it has a higher purpose than “prevents wicked women from tempting dumbass men who think with their . . . .” I think strong, powerful women should set an example by covering themselves first. Michelle O, Janet Reno, Madeline Albright . . . step up, ladies.

  2. I’ll fight as hard to defend Muslims rights to force their women to cover themselves up as I will to defend Presbyterians rights not to.

I think you may want to rephrase that to something more along the lines of: “I’ll fight as hard to defend the rights of Muslim women to choose to cover themselves up as I will to defend the rights of Presbyterian women to choose not to.”

  3. In Seven Pillars of Wisdom,T.E. Lawrence invariably described Arab women as ululating, shapeless lumps hidden away under their chadors.
Lawrence also spent many paragraphs describing lithe, handsome, athletic Arab boys (he liked to watch them swim), and Lawrence’s signature white Bedouin robes and kaffiyeh, a gift from Prince Faisal, were clothes traditionally worn by an Arab bride groom.
Not that there is anything wrong with that!

  4. mnbubba, Richard Burton (the Victorian explorer, not the actor) once described a geographical area, stretching from the Eastern Mediterranean to Western India, as “the pederasty zone”. Rumor has it that Burton, disguised as a local, infiltrated the male brothels of Karachi and wrote a long report on their operations. Said report was supposedly burned by Burton’s superiors in the Foreign Office.

  5. I once suggested ululation to my wife, woke up an hour later with a nasty bump on my head the shape of my boot heel.
