On The One Hand, Chalk One Up For The Good Guys

Tuscon homeowner beats back four armed scumbagswho attack his home, apparently wounding one of them.

On the other hand, the first guy in the video is carrying an AR15.  Good to see how all those “assault weapon bans” that made it so expensive to buy the cool firearms have been so effective in disarming criminals.

  1. Mitch,

I’m sorry, but I don’t recall anyone saying AR-15’s didn’t get more expensive, or that they got so expensive that they’d stop selling.

The assault weapon ban was stupid – they’re damned near never used in crimes – too bad law is too often done knee-jerk, often simply done on emotional idiocy.

Like, say, Gitmo. Or Domestic Spying, or invading Iraq. Damn sure glad our invasion of Iraq made the terrorists stop bombing Israel, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan – etc…

Well, yeah. That was my point in 1994, when the first ban happened. Better point; while it’s been prohibitively difficult to get a license for full-auto weapons for 70-plus years, no self-respecting drug dealer in LA can’t get a selective-fire Uzi, AK, Ingram or MP5 these days; the ban didn’t even address, much less change, that.

  3. Ok – we’re in agreement, but remember, it was Repubs and Dems who passed that law. Fear shouldn’t be used as a motivational tool unless the fear to be feared is fear itself.

Tell Obama that about the pork “stimulus” bill.
