Beginners’ Luck?

Joe Doakes from Como Park emails:

Four teens are charged with crimes for unsuccessfully attempting to rob a gun store:

. . . including robbery, possessing an instrument of crime, reckless endangerment and possession of a controlled substance . . . .

Once you read the list of charges, the incident becomes self-explanatory.  That’s almost as good as the guy who pulled a gun to demand a McDonald’s job application, then sat around in the booth filling it out until the cops showed up.

Kids these days, I tell ya.

Joe Doakes

Criminals usually aren’t in the top quintile, to put it tactfully.

  1. What typically escapes commentary in all the har-de-har-ing in these cases is that now we, the long-suffering taxpayers, will be on the hook for three hots and a cot at State Crime U for the next couple of years for these mooks, during which time they won’t be paying any support for all the babies of which they the daddies. And on their inevitable release, they’ll be unemployable and hence up to no good for the remainder of their lives. I suppose one can hope they decide to get into the dope trade.
I’m guessing the NPV of sunk costs here has to be an easy 2 mil apiece.
