  1. Mitch, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is 62 years old, is it over? Did Isreal win?

The situation in Iraq dates to 1919, is it over, did the west ‘win’? Is the Shiaa/Sunni divide ended? I had missed THAT, thanks for straightening me out.

Simpleton ideology and simpleton jingo-ism do not make you right – it just makes it so that you look like a dissembler. Winning in Iraq was something you couldn’t define 3 years ago, let alone 5. The best you could come up with was something akin to ‘A peaceful Iraq with a stable government’ – which is certainly NOT the case right now, unless you consider suicide bombers killing 38 people earlier this week peaceful. Nor is Israel likely to ‘win’ anything – as, just as in Lebanon 3.5 years ago, this was NEVER about whether Israel had the military power, but whether they had the moral authority to oppress innocent Palestinians, and to use exessive military force, resulting in massive casualties among those same civilians, in going after Hamas (or as was the case in Lebanon – Hezbollah) – your simplistic rant here exposes that you apparently either don’t know, or don’t care that Time isn’t saying Israel can’t win a contest of arms, just as they didn’t say WE couldn’t prevail in a contest of arms – but rather, peace cannot be achieved in this manner – in the manner of oppresssion.

And just a clue for you BK – we didn’t win over AQI by force of arms in Iraq – but rather by STOPPING the same sort of oppressive actions Israel is currently undertaking. So when you attempt to ‘learn’ your betters at Time – you’ve only shown you DIDN’T learn the lesson of Iraq. Israel is doing right now PRECISELY what made the insurgency more viable in Iraq – and they will lose the political support of the world if they continue, JUST like the did in Lebanon.

  2. Yes, Israel won, Peev. Israel has won each and every war during and since ’48.

It’s not difficult to tell, you know. Any day you’re in doubt, just check the Med for floating dead Jews; if you don’t find any — much less millions — Israel won again.

  3. It has been over a century since the War of Northern Aggression, but the South will rise again! That’s that Alabama book learnin’

There it is again- the frickin’ “Shia/Sunni divide”, like the Irish potato famine was exacerbated by some shit “Catholic/Protestant divide”.

Like the Sudanese Civil War and rape of Darfur is “caused” by an “Arab/African divide”.

What an evil little fuck this “peeve” is.

IOW, does Israel have the moral authority to use military force against people who have launched thousands of missile attacks and have sworn to annihilate the Jews?
