Rally!

The event that is on the short list of Great Minnesota Conservative Traditions – Jason Lewis’ annual Tax Rally on the Capitol grounds – is tomorrow at noon.

I will not be there – Ed and I will be on the air with the NARN – but the good folks from True North will be working the crowd along with the rest of the coalition of intellectual and fiscal freedom fighters that have gathered around Jason and the cause.

It’s also important in that it’ll be the first appearance of Barbara Davis-White as an endorsed GOP candidate; she’s running against Keith Ellison in the beleaguered Fifth District. She needs your support.

Kudos to Jason. He’s the competition, of course (for the Patriot, at least) – but I’d like to join the rest of the True North ruling junta in thanking him and his staff for listing TN as part of the Minnesota Freedom Network).  And while we’re up, let’s call a spade a spade; Jason was the locomotive that got conservatism moving down the track in Minnesota.

  1. I’m pretty right wing, but even Jason Lewis scares me sometimes. But I’ll probably attend just to see and hear Davis-White.

  2. I give Lewis credit for opposing the stadium, and that’s about all. In several years of hearing him, I’d say he was a more telegenic voice and style than Nick Coleman, but less erudite, certainly less bright (and I don’t think a lot of Coleman fyi). He’s a lightweight on the political talking head stage for a reason, and that reason is he’s far from clever (frankly Mitch, you’re more clever than he is). You like him, all well and good, he’s your political wing’s style talking head. I think he’s a gasbag.

  3. Raspberries from peevish? I don’t know if there could be a better endorsement… 😉

Well, people like that won’t be happy until there are no freedoms to think in opposition to _their_ ideas. So let’s let the left “Overtax and overspend” over tax the lefties that vote for that and let the right wingers keep more of their money.

PS, expect more than rasberries from angry Klod, UH, I mean klown… but that’s no surprsie. Let the peever and the Klown pay MY taxes… that would be “fair”… wasn’t there a revolution about taxation once? 😉

  5. Despite the ravages of global warming, 4000 to 5000 of us turned out in the April snow for a good presentation.

  6. I was VERY impressed by Barb Davis-White. She really was the best speaker today…That one has got some spunk!! I think she’ll put up some strong competition for Ellison.
