Out In The Street

20 to 1?

Seems like a fair battle.

I had to take off before the actual fun started at the Cathedral and long John Ireland Boulevard in Saint Paul this morning – I had to get to the station to do the NARN show – but I’m told it was a great time.  Most of the lefties behaved (all of the counterprotesters, naturally, behaved impeccably), and our presence – for a bunch of people who are just not wired to stand around on a gorgeous Saturday waving signs and yelling – was way stronger than I expected.  I had hoped to draw 15-18 counterprotesters – by all accounts we doubled that.

I’ll be linking to some of the other bloggers who were there – but this was a great start.

More later!

  1. I just put my After Action Report up at Anti-Strib. Apart from the complete tedium of standing around waiting for these folks to actually move their asses, it was fun. I even got video interviewed by Eva Young. Sh said i’t go up on YouTube. I hope she doesn’t try to make me look rediculas.

    Anti-Strib: Red my blog!

  2. it was fun, but as I noted as an old Vietnam war protester back when I was young and stupid, I was offended that they used our lines.

Lotsa thoughts about it, but others willl say it better.

I was glad to meet a Operation Iraqi Freedom vet who was back from the sandbox. talking to him you get the same feedback that we know well from Michael Yon and others. He did however offer something new. He had great respect for the Iraqi police who were doing thier jobs in pickups and light vests rather than in armored vehicles and body armor.
