{"id":9956,"date":"2010-04-14T06:11:10","date_gmt":"2010-04-14T11:11:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=9956"},"modified":"2010-04-14T06:36:12","modified_gmt":"2010-04-14T11:36:12","slug":"the-fox-news-creed-%c2%ab-mn-political-roundtable","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=9956","title":{"rendered":"Pass The Trick Cigars"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new lefty group blog (pardon the redundancy; I don&#8217;t know that there&#8217;s ever been a lefty soloblog), <em>MN Political Roundtable<\/em>, rolled out last week.\u00a0 The blog more or less apes the <em>True North <\/em>model &#8211; like <em>TN<\/em>, it claims to be based on ideology (if not principles) rather than allegiance to the DFL:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Welcome!<\/em> Our goal is to respectfully further progressivism and air the moderate to liberal viewpoint. We are not a &#8220;Democratic Party&#8221; or &#8220;DFL&#8221; blog, although most (but not all) of us are Democrats.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Now, whenever a leftyblog rolls out, you have to ask yourself &#8211; is it going to be:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a front for some lefty group or another (a la the <em>Minnesoros &#8220;Independent&#8221;<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li>a chromosomal garage\u00a0 sale like &#8211; well, we all know who I&#8217;m talking about.<em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/li>\n<li>a gathering place for perpetually-enraged Triggers, like <em>Norwegianity<\/em>,<\/li>\n<li>something better?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Well, there&#8217;s a little promise; among the writers are my old friend Erik Hare, the usually excellent if sometimes excessively victorian-vapour-prone Eric Austin, and the always-wrong-but-frequently-thought-provoking-and-usually-unembarassing Dave Mindeman.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, their first &#8220;guest blog&#8221; post &#8211; chock full of preening condescension and &#8220;artistic&#8221; talent somewhere between Ken Weiner and Swiftee &#8211; says &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/mnpoliticalroundtable.com\/?p=314\">chromosomal garage sale&#8221;.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Time&#8217;ll tell.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A new lefty group blog (pardon the redundancy; I don&#8217;t know that there&#8217;s ever been a lefty soloblog), MN Political Roundtable, rolled out last week.\u00a0 The blog more or less apes the True North model &#8211; like TN, it claims to be based on ideology (if not principles) rather than allegiance to the DFL: Welcome!
