House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer is warning that some of his Democratic colleagues are being threatened with violence when they go back to their districts \u2014 and he wants Republicans to stand up and condemn the threats.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Hey, everyone; don’t threaten Congresspeople.<\/p>\n

The Maryland Democrat said more than 10 House Democrats have reported incidents of threats or other forms of harassment about their support of the highly divisive health insurance overhaul vote.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Wow.\u00a0 If true, this sounds like a real huge wave of lunacy…<\/p>\n

…oh, wait:<\/p>\n

Hoyer emphasized that he didn\u2019t have a specific number of threats and that was just an estimate.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Yeah, I’ll bet it is.<\/p>\n

I’ll bet three more things:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. That this announcement was planned at least a week ago.<\/li>\n
  2. That the number of “threats of violence” varies no more than 10-15% from normal.<\/li>\n
  3. That Mr. Hoyer will never release any details of any of these threats for public examination.\u00a0 Indeed, he can’t – because he doesn’t have <\/em>any specifics.\u00a0 He’s passing off gossip to defame dissenters.\u00a0 Five’ll get you ten that there are no more serious, significant threats than normal during any contentious debate.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Expect much, much more of this between now an November.<\/p>\n

    And every time\u00a0 you see this, ask to see the specifics.\u00a0 When you’re at a Tea Party and see someone with a threatening or racist sign, snap a picture and post it on a blog.<\/p>\n
