The Democracy Corps-Third Way survey released Monday finds that by a 10-point margin — 51 percent to 41 percent — Americans think the standing of the U.S. dropped during the first 13 months of Mr. Obama’s presidency.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Democracy Corps and Third Way lean just a tad to the left, which makes this next bit absolutley hilarious:<\/p>\n

“This is surprising, given the global acclaim and Nobel peace prize that flowed to the new president after he took office,” said pollsters for the liberal-leaning organizations.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It was <\/em>surprising – the the same way it shocked us that Milli Vanilli wasn’t all that talented.<\/p>\n

But the numbers apparently were <\/em>bad enough that even DN\/3W couldn’t whitewash ’em:<\/p>\n

On the national security front, a massive gap has emerged, with 50 percent of likely voters saying Republicans would likely do a better job than Democrats, a 14-point swing since May. Thirty-three percent favored Democrats.<\/p>\n

“The erosion since May is especially strong among women, and among independents, who now favor Republicans on this question by a 56 to 20 percent margin,” the pollsters said in their findings.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A dedicated lefty might respond “yeah, but that’s just polling Americans”.\u00a0 True – which is something the poll has in common with Presidential elections.<\/p>\n

More importantly, though?\u00a0 The whole “America lost respect during the Bush years” meme also pretty much polled only Americans.\u00a0 Most foreigners who answer public opinion polls hate America, while a significant subset simultaneously hope to immigrate…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
