I got this email from a local “Peace” activist on Wednesday.\u00a0 I may have to give this a shot after the show on Saturday:<\/p>\n

The event to organize protests to\u00a0 the Republican agenda during the
\nSeptember 2008 convention is still taking place this Saturday, but the
\nlocation has changed from St Paul Trades to the Student Center of the U of
\nM St Paul campus.\u00a0 The full announcement is listed as follows:<\/p>\n

Sat. 6\/9 @ 2-5pm, NEW LOCATION (sorry for confusion) @ U of M – St.
\nPaul Student Center, 2017 Buford Ave, St. Paul, MN<\/span> (Directions and parking

The Republican National Convention<\/span> (RNC<\/span>) is coming to our backyard.\u00a0
\nFeeling angry?\u00a0 Want to do something? You and your organization are
\ninvited to join us for a gathering of those who have already started
\norganizing to resist the RNC<\/span> in 2008 and those looking for a place to start.\u00a0
\nThis will be a space for people to come together and share ideas and
\nenergy. The afternoon will be broken into 3 parts.\u00a0 We’ll start with a
\n“clearinghouse” where organizations can table and have an opportunity to
\nchat with attendees one-on-one.\u00a0 This will be followed by a facilitated
\n“open mic” discussion period.\u00a0 Discussion will start with explanations
\nabout what is already underway, and continue with attendees sharing
\ntheir hopes, dreams, and visions with each other.\u00a0 The day will conclude
\nwith “break out” sessions where participants gather around specific
\ntopics of interest and
\ndecide on “next steps.” Let’s meet each other, get to know each other,
\nand start to work together! Child Care and Snacks Provided. Co-hosted
\nby: Protest RNC<\/span> 2008 and the RNC<\/span> “Welcoming” Committee.<\/p>\n
