{"id":89742,"date":"2025-06-26T05:45:48","date_gmt":"2025-06-26T10:45:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=89742"},"modified":"2025-06-26T05:45:49","modified_gmt":"2025-06-26T10:45:49","slug":"groceries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.shotinthedark.info\/wp\/?p=89742","title":{"rendered":"Groceries"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Joe Doakes, formerly of Como Park, emails:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Attorney General Keith Ellison&#8217;s office recently hosted an all-day continuing legal education program titled, &#8220;Price, Access, and Power: Exploring Grocery Costs, Food Access, and Competition.&#8221; Several speakers advocated for breaking up grocery retailers and establishing government grocery stores in areas that don&#8217;t have them, such as high crime zones and Indian reservations.<\/p>\n<p>A leading candidate for mayor of New York City favors government-operated grocery stores (and you know whatever they get, Minneapolis must have).<\/p>\n<p>The next Democrat crusade is food. They want to take over your grocery store and run it &#8220;fairly,&#8221; you know, like the Post Office or the DMV.<\/p>\n<p>Thomas Sowell quipped, &#8220;Much of the social history of the Western world, over the past three decades, has been a history of replacing what worked with what sounded good.&#8221; This sounds like more of that.<\/p>\n<p>I just have one question.
